WHEN GRATITUDE GOES AWRY: Is this you? 🤔 You come from a place of privilege and you have everything you need. So when you don’t feel 100% great about everything in life, you feel like a guilty POS. You tell yourself you SHOULD feel grateful, and ask yourself why you can't just be happy. Sound familiar?⠀
This is a binary thinking, in which you believe something is all or nothing. People who use the word should when it comes to gratitude feel like if they don’t feel grateful for everything they have, then they’re spoiled, unappreciative jerks. Have you ever thought to yourself, “I’m healthy, I have a roof over my head, and I have a job that pays the bills. Why can’t I just be happy.” Ughs, guilt city! 😖😖😖
The problem with this line of thinking is that it discounts real and important needs of yours that are not being met, which keeps you in a constant cycle of guilt and repression. Just because you recognize your privilege, doesn’t mean you can't have desires or that it’s wrong to strive for better. Thinking this way will keep you marred in your own self judgement, paralyzing you from moving forward.⠀
Solution: The first step is to allow yourself to see things as they really are. Admit that maybe not everything in your life is exactly the way you want it to be. And then step out of your black and white thinking. Just because you’re unhappy about a particular situation, doesn’t mean you can’t be simultaneously appreciative of the other parts in your life that ARE going well. And if you haven't had a good venting session recently, go out and do ittt! It will make you feel better. Just make sure you’re confiding in someone you trust, who isn't all judge-y. But most importantly, get honest about what you really want. Honor yourself, and go out there and work for what you want, because the sooner you get your needs met, the sooner you can be a more real and whole human being for the rest of the people around you. 🙏🙏🙏

Halos are a sign of high thin cirrus clouds drifting 20,000 feet or more above our heads. 🤔
These clouds contain millions of tiny ice crystals. The halos you see are caused by both refraction, or splitting of light, and also by reflection, or glints of light from these ice crystals.
