Haven’t been this psyched about a Friday night in ages. And it’s nothing special: fridge clean-out tacos and general snacking for dinner, a suddenly very snuggly/huggy toddler who has fallen in deep, instantaneous love with pomegranate seeds, and a weekend with plans only for playing in the snow and eating homemade marshmallows (!). So many of you have sent or otherwise given me such kind support in taking a little time off from technology before the new site launches. What I appreciate SO MUCH (and way too often forget about) is the big-hearted love and cheering-on from so many smart, talented, good people whose taste I trust and admire. We all have our darknesses, and this week I’ve bonded with a few folks in dragging that stuff out into the light. It feels incredible to know that my hangups are not unique, and that I have friends who know and love me well enough to talk me through the dizzy moments. I’m planning to be off of social media (for me that mainly means here and Facebook) for a week starting Monday. I’m also thinking about keeping my phone in another room for much of the week in an attempt to limit screen time only to essential blog & website work. Which means music on vinyl and words on actual paper. 🤩 I’m nervous (wtf who even am I?!) and a bit excited. Big floppy Friday night hugs; if you need me I’ll be in soft pants all weekend.

Tenía unas ganas de volver a hacer esta tremenda torre de bocatas de jamón así que arranqué horneando unas 6 baguettes y después me fui a @dinas.salumeria a buscar el fiambre. Volví al Gluten Morgen Lab y preparé primero los pa amb tomaquet, con unos ricos tomates maduros y un buen oliva. Finalmente les puse un "toque" de ese jamón increíble y armé la torre.
Aunque no lo crean... sólo quedaron las migas.

This cake is bananas. Reminiscing about @donna.hay's One Bowl Banana Cake that I made this week.
