Practice and all is coming!
Make sure that when you’re attempting the harder poses, you take sweet care of your body. No pretty pose is worth an injury due to force or excess. If you practice safely and with awareness, you can practice for a lifetime.
A big thank you to @calarcoyoga for giving some really helpful tips on scorpion pincha this morning! 🙏🏼
Full day tomorrow! I'm looking forward to starting my day teaching Dharma Yoga at @zenhotyogavb south (930am) and then ending my day teaching alongside the beats of @druminyasa at @tribalyogahr (7pm). No better way to spend a Friday - surrounded by incredible yogis, amazing rhythms, and positive vibes 💗🕉💗. Come join us for either offering.....or both 😍🙏🏾😍
(& yes, I'll be in my boot - pic of course, before I was injured :) #straightlegscorpion
🏠 First practice in my new home 🏠

Throw BACK to when we captured @baconword in a beautiful heart-opening backbend.
Vivian has been a dedicated yogini at @yogaview for quite some time now and says:
“Yoga has been the only thing in the last 20 years that has made me feel completely free of all of the mundane aspects of life.”
What’s your WHY? We’d love to hear. Comment below to share or just tag in your next post: #youryogaview
I just launched a brand new website! And I’ll bribe you to check it out with a few hip opening video tutorials.
Get ‘em through the link in my bio.
By the way, I built this website myself. I’m not a trained web developer or graphic designer. I don’t say this to toot my own horn... I’m sure a professional’s crack at it would put my work to shame.
I point this out to prove that if you stick with your yoga practice, eventually you’ll realize you can do anything you want. You need only be patient with yourself, cut the negative self-talk, and be willing to be a total ignoramus in the beginning. Yoga won’t teach you Wordpress, but it teaches you all those virtues and more.
“Click” - that’s the sound my brain made when it figured out what it means to bring the chest forwards in scorpio. Although I’m still far off from the full expression of the pose, and will probably have 100 more “click” moments, it’s pretty incredible to even be here. Things that my body couldn’t do a year ago are feeling a little more effortless. At the end of the day it’s all about the progress and less about perfection. It’s about being grateful for what your body can already do and does for you every single day. 🙏🏻 #maririsinversions
@noxy21 : 💜😚
This afternoon, after my weights workout which included back, chest, bicep, triceps, shoulders, abs & leg exercises, I decided I should get in some inversion time 🤸🏻♀️ 😆 Two reasons why this was a terrible idea (1) My whole body was tired & sore from the workout (2) The group fitness room was being used for a class so I had to clear a space near the only wall I could find that wasn’t hidden by equipment 😩 It was loud, busy & really hard to concentrate out in the open (it’s kind of right near a walkway too 😂). But despite the challenges I managed a few tiny handstand & pincha holds 🙌🏻 My headstand was ok but it’s not as good as it used to be 😔 There’s just too many things to practice & not enough time lol #yoga#yogapractice#yogaprogress#pinchamayurasana#scorpionpose#handstand#headstand#forearmbalance#stengthtraining
I decided a few months back to participate in The Path Program at Renegade Yoga Center. It’s a 2 year program that dives deeper into Patanjali’s 8 Limbs as well as the Chakra System. One of our recent homework assignments is to pick an asana that is our nemesis. Well, Scorpion (bent legs) & Forearm Balance (straight legs) are the 2 asanas I have no use for. That means I probably need them the most so I’m practicing them until I learn their secrets. What asana (yoga pose) is your nemesis?
Today I woke up to find out that someone had hacked my paypal account and stolen $1,000 from me. After spending the morning sorting it out, my body showed me some of the progress I’d been craving. So it wasn’t all bad.
