The 1981 Nike Bruins
The day of his fitting, Michael J. Fox wore a pair of these Nike Bruins, and were only chosen because costume designer Deborah L. Scott forgot to bring Eric Stoltz's dark green high top converse. Robert Zemeckis looked at what Michael was wearing and said "Just wear those." These shoes definitely became a staple piece in Mcfly's wardrobe, being worn in all three movies
Life has been busy and stressful lately, so somehow I managed to forget sharing this incredible bit of good news...
...should the mail system pull through, I will soon be the proud owner of my first-ever screen-accurate piece of Doctor Who apparel!!! And it's basically my Holy Grail. 😍😁 Anyone who follows me has probably figured out Donna Noble is my favorite Whoverse heroine ever, so to own her most iconic jacket is thrilling beyond words!!!
Thank you @catherinejersey for the screen-accurate info so I knew what to search for! 💙
The first pic is a screenshot of my winnings; the rest are all reference photos from online, with the last being a photo of the Real Deal at The Doctor Who Experience, taken by @roxaspritch.
Last night, I made the most impressive, most exhilarating find of my cosplay "career". I located and purchased (OF COURSE) the very same brooch used to make Margaery's necklace on the show. The seller seemed to have no clue what they had. 😳 [It was priced at a fair price for a vintage sterling silver brooch (so I did not rob them blind) but it was quite obvious that they had no idea it was anything but a mid-century brooch]. Terrifying thought... I almost settled for two other vintage brooches (one of which was more expensive) before finding this one. The rush of finding a VINTAGE screen accurate item... 😈.
Beginning work on something real unusual on multiple levels - making a non-Doctor Who jacket for MYSELF!!
I'm so used to solely working for clients these days, but this chance find in soho has kick-started a project I've been planning for at least three years, and this week it WILL happen.
Doubt anyone will guess what it is, but you can have a go! No prizes - funny if someone got it right though.
A little bit of Negan today. The screen accurate Bowie knife used by Negan in the walking dead season 7 episode 4 and on. This was a painful project, as these knives come with a bright green, soft plastic grip, which had to be black. I tried all sorts of methods, from painting it, spraying it and coating it, before simply wrapping it in a soft gripping tape. Although not totally black, I'm very happy with how this turned out.
