Conceptualized to give an experience of dining under the large faux sunken boat surrounded by fluidic waves, Farzi Café, Oberoi Mall Goregaon will show the homecoming in Mumbai with a fresh breeze of spatial design. Parametric Design Methods & Computational Techniques are used to design the waves and symbolizing a restaurant under the Mumbai Sea.
Designers Sushant Verma and Anchal Chaudhary decided to contextualize the space with the Dynamic city of Bombay and mention “As sea waves undulate to express constant dynamism, we capture their essence and beauty in static forms using parametric design methods coupled with digital fabrication techniques”. A large Boat installation has been suspended from the ceiling under the intricately designed static wave that symbolizes dynamism and movement as time freezes to capture the beauty of the fluidic motion. Hundreds of smaller boats rowing in the wave pattern form a Light Installation chandelier at the entrance of the restaurant, to create a symbolic gesture of movement and kinetics.
