If you are feeling stuck or unmotivated. Try and reflect back of what you might of previously done that you have enjoyed. It could be anything. Get creative. Gymnastics, cycling, pole dancing, trampolining... whatever it is, it's never too late just take the first step and get started. #dowhatmakesyouhappy #dowhatsgoodforyoursoul

Been on a course all day-what better day then to encourage myself to walk?! Most of us have sedentary jobs, & struggle to meet the often touted 10,000 steps / day, which some say is ridiculous (*gasp inserted here..*) as not based on much research & doesn't take variables such as stride length etc. into account. Any-hoo..I'm aiming for 5,000 steps which is better than the average Brit (3-4,000), to see with a bit of effort, if I can at least walk more than I normally would. I'm doing common sense things like taking the longer route to the loo & actually walking during breaks..it's 4.45pm, & im already at 4,880 steps..not bad for a predominately sedentary day..it's in the bag!

Yup. Your age doesn't mean you have to have pain. No matter what anyone says. If it did, everyone would be in pain. There aren't these magical numbers of age (I.e. 40, 50, 55, 67, etc) that automatically equate to pain. Doesn't exactly work like that. Keep moving folks.

Meanwhile, physically active people are less susceptible to the risk of cardiovascular diseases, obesity, 2 type of diabetes, breast and colon cancer. 
Doctors say that physical activity has a positive influence on the level of “bad” cholesterol in the blood, on insulin resistance, blood pressure, reduces the inflammatory processes in the body.

Let’s be honest, most people are want to be healthier and happier, but it can be difficult to do so when you're stuck behind a desk all day.

However, we have solutions…there are many ways you can stay healthy if you sit a lot. We get it, these changes can be challenging to try and incorporate when you're busy with emails, texts, meetings, deadlines, and heavy workloads.

Truth is - Most people want to be healthier, but also want it to be as easy and simple as possible, because well - it seems like everyone has jammed schedules these days. 📆

That’s why we did this video… it doesn’t have to be complicated or even time consuming.

The key is C O N S I S T E N CY.

Try experimenting with this mobility exercise and suggestions, and you may very well notice an improvement in your overall mental and physical wellbeing.
💥N O T E💥if you don’t have a band or anything to do the passthrough, NO EXCUSES! Simply straighten your arms in front of you, do a big yawn over your head and then stretch your arms to each side. Repeat.

✔️Walk at lunch: Have an hour for lunch? Use half to eat, half to walk.
✔️Ditch the car: If and when possible, walk, bike, or even run to work. If you commute, try parking far away from your workplace and walk part of the way. Or get off the train/metro/bus several stops early.
✔️Walk when you talk: If you use a cell phone for work, make it a practice to walk when you're on the phone.
✔️Set a timer: As we mentioned in the video, set a timer for every 40-50mins to remind you to take a walk or stretch (do those passthroughs😉).
✔️Pay Attention To Posture: Poor posture, like sitting, is more detrimental to our health than many of us realize. Don't cross your legs, avoid slouching, and don’t over-arch your back or neck. **Think of stretching your head toward the ceiling, and tuck your chin in a little bit. (yep, make that double chin). And keep your shoulders relaxed!

Here I am at my #heaviestweight. I was about 260 lbs. Im a little #embarassed I let myself go for so long. This was caused by leading a #sedentarylifestyle and #overeating #unhealthyfood. No one to blame but myself. Swipe left. The second pic is after I started being more physically active and eating a little bit healthier. I was about 230 lbs. in this picture. That's about 1 1/2 years ago when we started on the #beachbody program. Started with #21dayfix twice, #hammerandchisel twice, and a few rounds of #bodybeast while following the eating guides. My wife and I stick to #cleaneating and work our asses off every time we #workout. The last pictures are from this morning. 191.6 lbs. and about 7% #bodyfat at 36 years of age. The progress will not stop. #noexcuses #timetochange

Allowing this childlike (not childish 😳) facet makes us feel better, stronger, energized, lifts our mood, enhances wellbeing ..... however you want to phrase it 😉 As for me, I just took the opportunity during a run and got onto the swings. Not only was I simply having fun, watching this video I was reminded of how active children are doing things they enjoy and explore. I wouldn't call it #Anger but everyone else did, so I went. When I was younger and I got Angry... someone would get hurt, usually the Guy who said something stupid to me. Well, it's been a Year now and I'm still going because as much as I think it's crap, I have become a calmer person. I used to be a Monsoon when I got Angry... now I'm a tropical depression. Honestly, I can't think of any sport that combines a variety of my favourite things I'd like to do in my freetime.

• It allows you to explore different places.
• It grants you access to beaches that you would otherwise miss out on.
• It allows you to train your whole body.
• You can experience the water and nature.
• You aren't sitting down.
• You can join a SUP Yoga class.

Many of us spend a lot of time sitting whether it be in the office or just sitting around the house. 🙇🏽However, if you are one of these people who spend copious amounts of time sitting then here is some advice to improve your posture. 1️⃣ This one may be a no brainer but limit your time sitting as much as possible and 2️⃣design your workplace (if you're in an office👨🏾‍💻) with the following in mind:

1️⃣Chairs with lumbar supports have been shown to lower intradiscal pressures compared to chairs without these supports.

2️⃣Chairs with arm rests also reduce pressure in discs.

3️⃣Sitting in a slightly reclined position also lowers disc pressure. (approx. 120 degrees)

4️⃣Choose a chair that is wide enough to keep your knees apart. Because keeping your knees close together makes you prone to slumping over🚶🏾 5️⃣Your chair and desk arrangement should be such that your forearms rest on the desk with your elbows at a 90-degree angle close to your sides. 💪🏾This position reduces stress on the trapezius and surrounding muscles of the upper back and neck.🔥

Many of us spend a lot of time sitting whether it be in the office or just sitting around the house. 🙇🏽However, if you are one of these people who spend copious amounts of time sitting then here is some advice to improve your posture. 1️⃣ This one may be a no brainer but limit your time sitting as much as possible and 2️⃣design your workplace (if you're in an office👨🏾‍💻) with the following in mind: . 1️⃣Chairs with lumbar supports have been shown to lower intradiscal pressures compared to chairs without these supports. 2️⃣Chairs with arm rests also reduce pressure in discs. 3️⃣Sitting in a slightly reclined position also lowers disc pressure. (approx. 120 degrees) 4️⃣Choose a chair that is wide enough to keep your knees apart. Because keeping your knees close together makes you prone to slumping over🚶🏾 5️⃣Your chair and desk arrangement should be such that your forearms rest on the desk with your elbows at a 90-degree angle close to your sides. 💪🏾This position reduces stress on the trapezius and surrounding muscles of the upper back and neck.🔥 . Remember that spinal disorders are preventable!🙏🏾Although the dangers of sitting for prolonged periods of time may not seem like a huge issue now but it does have a cumulative effect on the spine over years.👵🏾 - #regrann  - #regrann
