"Keaton asked to do this AFTER he had me pick him up AGAIN because he was afraid to go to lunch. My kids are by no stretch perfect, and at home, he's as all boy as they come, but by all accounts he's good at school. Talk to your kids. I've even had friends of mine tell me their kids were only nice to him to get him to mess with people. We all know how it feels to want to belong, but only a select few know how it really feels not to belong anywhere." - via Kimberly Jones #riskhappy

"For the past 33 years, I have looked in the mirror every morning and asked myself: 'If today were the last day of my life, would I want to do what I am about to do today?' And whenever the answer has been 'No' for too many days in a row, I know I need to change something.
Your work is going to fill a large part of your life, and the only way to be truly satisfied is to do what you believe is great work. And the only way to do great work is to love what you do. If you haven't found it yet, keep looking. Don't settle. As with all matters of the heart, you'll know when you find it." - Steve Jobs #riskhappy

"What a year it has been. A year of maturity, growth, transformation, awareness, and development. It might not seem like a lot has changed, but when you look back, nothing is the same. You might not even be ending the year with the same people you've started with. You might not even have the same mentality and outlook. That's okay. As you evolve you're going to change a lot.
You're going to grow apart from certain people, situations, and circumstances that aren't in your best interest. You might have even met new people who have impacted your life for the better this year. The beautiful thing about leaving a year behind is collecting all the lessons you've learned that you can use in the upcoming year. Your story isn't over. It's actually just beginning.
You’ve been developing yourself and getting better. All your hard work is about to pay off. All the ups and downs you've experienced was only preparing you for what's to come. You only get better when you take your shortcomings as an opportunity to learn and grow. 2017 might have been a year full of lessons, but 2018 will definitely be a year full of blessings. Keep your hope up! Great things are coming your way." - via @idillionaire #riskhappy

Last call for my creative muse zoom writing workshops this weekend. Come write out all of it- the grief, the wonder, the ache, the astonishment, the overflowing warm love and poison and everything in between you might carry this holiday season. 🎄
And you don't have to be a writer. Just a living being with a pen and a heart.
These are the final ones for this theme, we will use creative ceremony as an equal parts meditative and energizing tool, laugh and cry and connect, and mostly love.
I still have some spots tomorrow or Sunday: (Link in bio) 💫💚❤️💚💫 #victoriaerickson

note to self:
don’t let others moves distract you alongside your own journey. focus on yours. comparison is the root of set destruction. the opinions of others on your own journey are meaningless if they’re aren’t in the arena with you. work on your dream life every day... mentally, physically or spiritually. 🙏🏼
Always find it interesting what resonates most with others in what I share...it’s also a sweet way to take stock of the past year and all that I have been working on. Soulflower Top 9 2017. #heartswork#mysoulflower#lookingback

Came across this photo from 2011 and felt compelled to share. #fbf . This was junior year in high school. I had just moved to Oahu from the Big Island, and still hadn't fully recovered from the identity / culture shock of abruptly leaving South Florida and the life I felt I left behind. Capoeira, my community in Pompano Beach, I was still too naive to fully comprehend the privilege that it was to live in Hawaii, because my spirit was in Florida. Where I felt connected to community, and found semblances of solace amidst turbulent family times. With so many literal, emotional, and spiritual shifts the one thing that kept me grounded we're seeing these sunsets. Something about the sun, the tranquility of the ocean, the peace of the day Passing, with a promise that it will return in the morning. "I got the whole world in my hands" a line from a song I can't pinpoint from my childhood, that always comes to mind whenever I see the palms curve the outline of the sunset in this photo. On the outside I could leave this to a superficial quote about peace, but I need y'all to comprehend. There was nothing peaceful about the layers of feeling, of emotion, of existence I felt, which is perhaps why my soul gravitated toward it. is inherently apart of who I am. I used to try to simplify it, and as an empath, on days where I'm not my best self, or am in spaces with people who may not understand this level of depth, I can try to dumb it down. To neutralize it. "Why can't you be normal" were the thoughts. But this is me, this is my truth. A complex whirlwind of feelings, memories, and emotions that make up my world. I will not ever think, or ask myself to change this for anyone. Community is Resistance. Community is healing. #breaktheboxes#healing#grow#selflove#reflect#hawaii#truth

<🌳"What i’m learning is that growth is ugly.
It’s not bubble baths and self-help books that teach you how to love yourself.
It’s fighting, kicking and screaming against the self-doubt that weighs you down.
It’s panicking at the possibility of failure while still moving forward anyway.
It’s slowly peeling out of your skin and feeling the tenderness of a touch without armour.
The process of growth is ugly, but it’s the product that makes it worthwhile".>

I saw a sign a sign in Gokyo that had this on it in the lodge we were staying in. I couldn't help relating to it on a few different levels.
The first being where we were at the time and the hard work we had put into getting to this gorgeous location. Also the fact that I was feeling altitude sickness on the way down and REALLY needed to concentrate on getting myself there one slow & cautious step at a time.
The second being my life. As much as we would all love to see the light all day everyday, there needs to be dark for light. Sometimes things happen in our life where we are asking ourselves 'why me?' Or wondering how this situation could possibly get better. Maybe we shed some tears. Maybe we feel our heart break. Each of us has experienced hardships in our lives. The key is to remember that you are not alone and it WILL get better on the other side. Looking back on those experiences and knowing have grown into a better person from it. ❤️☺️
Number of years ago, my dear girlfriend and I attended a workshop to study proper breathing technics and how it affects our health on daily bases. I teach the proper breathing technics in my #RebirthofOneselfPackage , check details @oxana__gonchar
The workshop we attended was very helpful and we got to spend a few days in gorgeous mountains away from hustle and bustle of a city. I always love those trips. So at the end of one of our yoga classes that we did every morning while we were there, an older yogi stopped by and said to us: 'All that you need to focus on is your heart center' Do I agree with that? I would say it depends. It depends on what you are working on. Although, if I had to choose the importance of two or three then 100% Yes, Heart is what I choose.
Our heart is the strongest electromagnetic field of any organ of the human body. Every organ and cell in our body generates an energy field. Because the heart generates the strongest electromagnetic field, the information stored in its electromagnetic field affects every organ and cell in our body. The heart starts beating in a fetus way before the brain is developed so make your own conclusions. The heart and brain communicate through the nerve system and the electromagnetic field of the body. It is through this communication the consciousness of the heart can change how the brain processes information. This process can also affect how energy flows in our body. Proper energy flow in our body is crucial to our wellness.
Our emotions is how we understand the world beyond logic. Stillness and meditation allow us to understand our reality in a universal kind of way, giving us universal characteristics. This biological electromagnetic field generator allows us to understand each other at the emotional level and beyond, giving us a sense of connection to all things. This balanced emotional connection is what creates bonding between individuals. For these reasons, the human heart holds the key to uniting humanity. When we learn how to think with our heart, it becomes easier for us to understand one another; therefore to eliminate barriers and evolve toward a brighter, happier and healthier future.

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ There are days where I feel like I am not enough or that I didn’t matter to people who once said they loved me. 〰️
It breaks my heart when I tell those things to myself because who can I trust if I can’t trust myself? 〰️
Just know you have a right to feel hurt about certain things and you need to feel those feelings. Let it out! 〰️
Sometimes you need a good cry because your spirit needed your TLC. 〰️
Remember only you can control the way you feel about yourself. Forgive yourself. We are all human and make mistakes we are doing the best we can. ❤️😘
