Day 8 of the #selfcareseries ! This week our focus is on psychological self-care and I'm starting the week off right with some positive affirmations from @silentsavasana... #SelfCareSeries , Entry 1 | "How do you take care of yourself when you have a mental illness? I get caught up thinking about so many things that it just seems impossible at this point." I, too, was at this stage when my anxiety was at its peak. I felt like I couldn't take care of myself because my intrusive thoughts would kick in, and all I could do was focus on my symptoms. On top of that, I was also easily tired out because mental illnesses are not just MENTALLY draining; they're also PHYSICALLY draining. Therefore, it was difficult for me to see how taking care of myself was even possible. One thing to keep in mind through it all is that you have to take that first step yourself because only you have the power to do so, and every step brings you closer to your victory! As Confucius said himself: it doesn't matter the size of the step as long as you keep moving forward. So do it for you! You'll thank yourself later. – #KayGreetsTheDay –
#POTMSeries , Closing | With mental healing comes a lot of care, patience, love, and time. We cannot rush the process, nor can we expect to see results immediately. The road to mental healing is a journey for a reason – so we learn to love ourselves, improve ourselves, and be kind to ourselves. My journey started in 2013, and I'm still on the road to recovery to this day. I have gotten to where I am today because I allow myself to experience the hurt, the sadness, the frustration, the vulnerability. And keep in mind that it's also okay to unexpectedly experience those off days; that simply means that there's still room for improvement. So as we continue to take care of our minds, we can also take care of the rest of our well-being, and everything from there will follow. Let's keep the light shining, Passion Pilots! We can do this...YOU can do this! It all goes up from here. Spread some love to a fellow #PassionPilot in your life today. Have a very blessed weekend everyone! And stay tuned next week for my #SelfCareSeries ! With Love, Kay. ❤️ – #KayGreetsTheDay#Meraki#AdMaiora#Anxiety#MentalHealing#TakeCareOfYourMind#Coping#LifestyleBlogger
Love these new sharable SeneTips! "Three key elements to a flawless look." Though I don't necessarily seek a flawless look as much as confident authenticity. What's your reason for self care?
A three part Smile with Tiffany Self Care Series starts this month, on 3rd Mondays April - June.
We're continuing with our #selfcareseries ✨ Emotional Self Care is so important to me, because a lot of the times when you're busy doing things for yourself as well as others, you begin to neglect your feelings and reactions. We have to be sure that we're staying attentive to our emotions because if we don't, it'll eventually come back to haunt us. Take some time today and all of this week to cater to your emotions. I'm going to start by writing. How are you going to take care of yourself emotionally this week?
Last week of Self Care Series with Liesa Louise @mystic_mountain is this Saturday at 3:30pm!
This week's theme: Detoxification.
Toxins (ama) that enter the body from external factors such as food, environment, stress, etc. are sticky and greasy by nature. Hot water can dissolve ama from your system just as it dissolves grease from dirty dishes, and it can accomplish this gradually and comfortably.
Join us this Saturday for more tools for removing toxins and balancing Kapha:) Also! She teaches a regular Dakini Dance class on Wednesdays (today) at 5:30pm! Check it out, y'all ☮ & see ya soon! #muchlove

This is the beginning of our #selfcareseries ! We'll start with Mental Self-Care. My personal favorite thing to do for this is to read an old book I love. It doesn't matter how many time I've read it. It usually makes me feel just as good as it did the first time. Take care of yourself guys. ✨

Celebrate Valentine's Day week by taking care of you. ❤️☝🏻️😘That's why we're sharing the #goodthings we've found that allow us to love ourselves. Meditating each morning for 10 minutes (noise cancelling headphones essential!) is my non-negotiable. I started doing it to find my centre but what I discovered instead was these daily sessions opened up a portal in my brain that lets LOVE flow. 💗 While I used to be my own worst critic, this tool has banished negative self-talk and anxiety and in its place is love and forgiveness. 😻🌈 Meditation taught me to choose love. It gave me the wings to leave a stable corporate career and pursue my passion for healthy story telling... and create positive self-talk in my head.
We'll be sharing our tried 'n' tested self-care tools every day this week to help you find the love... even through the darkness. Love KB xxx 🙏🏻👋🏻😉 #selfcareseries#meditatetoelevate#belove#goodtodo#goodforyou
Starting an EVENING SELF CARE SERIES titled 'SWEET NIGHT TWAS'. Upon completion, we'll move swiftly into our community cleanse, all are welcome to join me. It's a challenge I look forward to every year. It's the Yin to my Yang 🤓 I have variety in my life, I'll be sure to spice it up || And you just let me know if you'd like to join in on the clean eating, daily support, self-care & wellbeing recipes. Otherwise, enjoy creepin' in on my this & that for the next few weeks ☺️
Holy bejesus, these two women helped make my dreams become a reality in the recent months, bringing a more creative and dynamic flavour to the CFIT program. Vanessa, for your incredibly infectious positive energy and suacy African dance moves, and to Lauren, for your calming, directed workshops in clay forming. My little #selfcareseries dream wouldn't have come to fruition without the help of these women. So much gratitude!!! ✨✨✨ @sit_still_lauren_ceramics @goodieballs 💛💛
I'm always preaching self-care, especially since I've seen the benefits in my own life. I started saying NO more, to others and to myself, and I started exercising more. As a result of doing those things, I feel an overwhelming sense of peace that I haven't felt in a long time. I feel more confident, stronger, and of course, healthier. However, I've been exercising at 5:30am and not only am I not a morning person, I'm a serious night owl, so I've been averaging about 4-5 hours of sleep. As much as I wanted to workout this morning, I knew I needed to take my own advice and sleep in. And today I feel refreshed.
Bottom line is this, give yourself grace and always take care of yourself first. You will not regret it. Happy Friday, friends! ✌🏻️
