Vulnerability is a practice. Honesty is a practice. Transparency is a practice. I get a lot of, “Love how authentic you are,” or “Thank you for your honesty,” or “Your vulnerability is inspiring.”
Listen, you don’t just wake up one morning and go, “I think I’ll post on social media about my marriage!” Or “I’m just going to reveal all my body esteem struggles!”😂😂Over time, you share one small thing at a time. And it gets easier.
You don’t dump. Or rant. Or even vent. You share the lessons and insights as a *service*, not as a bomb-dropping cry for attention. To me, there’s nothing inspiring about positioning myself as a victim & crying on social media. Is that sharing? Technically. Even authentic sharing? Sure. But is it a service if *I* don’t even know what the fuck yet? Nope.
So if I share something, it’s for 2 reasons:
1️⃣The sharing in and of itself is practice in overcoming shame. Like Brené Brown says, “Shame can’t survive being spoken,” so sharing things that might have historically caused shame or embarrassment or guilt, little by little, allow me to feel less shame and embarrassment and guilt by owning them. Publicly. Ownership brings options. I get to control the conversation about my own missteps and struggles, instead of feeling at the mercy of judgment, criticism or cultural norms. I get to be in on the joke *on purpose* instead of feeling anxiety over how I’m being perceived. And to me, honesty is the universal ice-breaker, it immediately puts us on all an even playing field and gives other people the opportunity to share their stuff, too.
2️⃣My goal as a coach and creator is to help people feel understood and empowered to own their own shit. Look, life is messy. Betrayals, losses, failures, ego hits are all inevitable. They’re always painful but ... THEY ARE NORMAL. And if my telling of my stuff helps you feel less alone and more emboldened to share, work through + overcome the things you’ve endured, that’s a huge win for us all.
Acknowledgement can be clinical. It doesn’t have to mean we’re somehow not good enough. We can share our struggles in service. And I’d argue we’re all elevating because of it💃🏻❤️
"It is the great mercy of God that He did not create us in a mortal image, for that would have precluded our attainment of a divine nature, except by God's special grace. God sees every soul as made in His image, that no matter how heavily sunk in delusion man may be, even a sinner of sinners can wash away the mud of ignorance and discover the hidden purity of the soul. We are eternally divine; only temporarily are we slaves of delusion. That is why all men should understand that sense enjoyment is not the goal of life; only a return to perfection can satisfy the human heart and the divine plan. He who becomes master of himself is a real conqueror. You must strive to do what I am doing—constantly winning within myself. And in this inner victory, I find the whole world at my command. The elements, which seem so mysterious, the scriptures, which seem so contradictory—all things are made clear in the great light of God. In that Light everything is understood and mastered. To gain this wisdom of God is the only purpose for which you were sent here; and if you seek anything else instead, you are going to punish yourself. Find your Self and find God." - Paramahansa Yogananda
Poses are not the goal.
Poses are a vehicle to reach the goal of Yoga—Self Realization.

Happy Monday, everyone! I read somewhere once that hating Monday’s is only an illusion - it’s true! It’s just another day, why live life hating 1/7 of it? 😏 It’s time we change our attitude! (: With that said, I challenge you to a CAN DO or YES attitude...because that’s a positive attitude. One thing that is constant in this universe is change. And while our attitudes can be enduring, they can also change. Take today to be mindful of your attitude & change it if it’s not pointing in the positive direction. Ask yourself if your attitude is helping you or hurting you. All of us will have highs and lows, so start to train your mindset to possess a level of positivity all while being realistic, ofc. You can’t control what life will have to throw at you but you can have full control of your attitude & approach at dealing with life’s obstacles. Remember, this doesn’t happen overnight but rather throughout the course of our lives. #thymetotalk#mindfulmonday 💫

🍀💕🍀 “You have to achieve the benevolence of the whole humanity. This is the essence of it. If you are doing it, you are not doing for yourself, for your gain. You are not doing for the gain of any particular person. But you are doing it for the benevolence of the whole humanity. So, once you know this is the essence, so what is the need to shout? By shouting you are not going to achieve anything. So to play around with it and bring it to that point which is benevolence. “ - Shri Mataji Nirmala Devi, Saffron Walden (England), 14 August 1989. 🍀💕🍀

Day 8 As long as Self-Realization means something to you, you are outsourcing your self and thus greatly diminishing your spiritual power in order to attain such realization.
The quest for such a thing is therefore unlike any other desire. It is the liberation of desire but not from it, the setting free of the glorious seed within each desire.
[note: Brahman is the Sanskrit word for God; the ultimate reality underlying all phenomena] 46.) The ignorance characterized by the notions ‘I’ and ‘Mine’ is destroyed by the knowledge produced by the realization of the true nature of the Self, just as right information removes the wrong notion about the directions.
47.) The Yogi of perfect realization and enlightenment sees through his “eye of wisdom” the entire universe in his own Self and regards everything else as his own Self and nothing else.
48.) Nothing whatever exists other than the Atman: the tangible universe is verily Atman. As pots and jars are verily made of clay and cannot be said to be anything but clay, so too, to the enlightened soul and that is perceived is the Self.
59.) All objects are pervaded by Brahman. All actions are possible because of Brahman: therefore Brahman permeates everything as butter permeates milk.
60.) Realise that to be Brahman which is neither subtle nor gross: neither short nor long: without birth or change: without form, qualities, color and name.
63.) Brahman is other than this, the universe. There exists nothing that is not Brahman. If any object other than Brahman appears to exist, it is unreal like the mirage.
64.) All that is perceived, or heard, is Brahman and nothing else. Attaining the knowledge of the Reality, one sees the Universe as the non-dual Brahman, Existence-Knowledge-Bliss-Absolute.
65.) Though Atman is Pure Consciousness and ever present everywhere, yet It is perceived by the eye-of-wisdom alone: but one whose vision is obscured by ignorance he does not see It; as the blind do not see the resplendent Sun.
67.) The Atman, the Sun of Knowledge that rises in the sky of the heart, destroys the darkness of the ignorance, pervades and sustains all and shines and makes everything to shine.
68.) He who renouncing all activities, who is free of all the limitations of time, space and direction, worships his own Atman which is present everywhere, which is the destroyer of heat and cold, which is Bliss-Eternal and stainless, becomes All-knowing and All-pervading and attains thereafter Immortality. — (Source: Ātma-bōdha by Adi Sankaracharya) #selfrealization#know
“Even when the sky is heavily overcast, the sun hasn’t disappeared. It’s still there on the other side of the clouds” - Eckhart Tolle. Worry, sadness, stress, pain... These are temporary states. Practice silently watching your emotions and allowing them to move through you and out of you. Do not falsely identify yourself with them. They are not you and they never can be. You are the everlasting light beneath, a spark of divine consciousness, and nothing in this world can ever change that 🌿
I went to it all-day communal contemplation and conversation on Death this weekend, one of my favorite topics, and found how true and untrue this is. For yes, I encompass all of time and all of space. I am the infinity of love and it’s pure existence in both form and presence. And yet my body will one day expire, for it is fragile and it’s days upon this earth will be limited. And my body is not who I am. For I am the infinite nature of all life and death in limited form. These truths coexisting bring me much comfort, to welcome both the limited and infinite natures of our being. .
