A small painting -- Rear View ---and a quote for you from #katherineanneporter : "The past is never where you think you left it."
As a reminder, I am donating 100% of ALL sales from my store (link in bio) through September to #HoustonFloodRelief and my husband and I will match 100% of each sale to keep the relief dollars flowing. We've raised $6,000 dollars for @globalgiving so far and are aiming for at least $10,000. There are many great relief organizations, but here is the one we will be donating to: @globalgiving bit.ly/globalgivingHARVEY #isacattostudio#artheals#artforgood#helpothers#lifteachotherup#houstonstrong
I am reposting this for my dear friend, @janheatonwatercolors, and her daughter, Kristin, who is fighting stage 4 metastatic parotid cancer. They were both in my class many, many years ago in #LagunaGloria (@contemporaryatx). Now Jan is a wildly successful artist and they both need our help to raise money for a promising new cancer treatment. I will post my work for the cause here. Meanwhile, "Save the date. September 23, 6:30 -9 PM at the Davis Gallery in Austin. 56 artist friends are right now creating mandalas for Kristin. They will be in a silent auction that evening. Can't wait to share their names and the art with you. Thank you @davis_gallery for making this event possible. I'm having to go non-toxic/solvent free in my studio, due to a variety of reasons. Not easy when you work in oils. I have been looking for liquin, impasto, and turpentine substitutes, and after much research was getting a bit depressed. Today I found Sennelier's medium liquide, thinner, and medium gel from their #greenforoil line. It was at one of my fave art shops in Shoreditch called Great Art. I will keep you posted on how they work out. Also, I started working with Windsor & Newtons fast drying linseed oil. It works great for base layers, and was dry to touch the next day. Because it is one of the more yellow oils, it's not the best for whites, unless you want a creamy off white.
I found pink soap has done a great job so far in cleaning my brushes, but not very effective for a deep clean. to be continued... #greenforoil#greatart#winsorandnewton#nontoxic#mediumreviews#solventfree#love#loveyourself#fineart#oilpainting#senellier

The organization provides food, gas, clean water, hygiene products, and shelter in the short-term, and then funnels the remaining resources to local organizations to facilitate long-term recovery.
