They’re topped with a Bosc pear compote, sautéed blueberries, pistachios, and mint. I finished with a drizzled of sunflower butter and Earth Balance “butter.”
And hell naw, I didn’t make these 😂 It’s a breakfast option from my current plant-based delivered meals package from Thistle. The only credit I can take is deciding to add some blueberries and melt some butter.

Over centuries, the word has lost its ‘t,’ but never the first ‘r.’ And that’s another story. a common #misconception is that protein intake cannot be adequate on a #vegan diet. people always ask me: what do you eat? where do you get your protein? I eat everything and anything I want to! #plants contain every ounce of #protein you could possibly ask for. I've retrained my system to not crave byproducts of animal enslavement and exploitation through simple changes. what looks more appetizing to me? I promise it's not that slab of decomposing flesh pumped full of hormones and chemicals to keep it 'fresh'... It probably some summer squash, peppers, onions, beans, stuff with #COLOR , that's from our earth, no death required.
Did you know when dairy cows give birth, (because they were artificially AND continually inseminated) their young are taken away immediately to be processed as veal, while they are pumped and pumped and pumped until there is nothing left of them and they can no longer stand. My first week back at work contained several positive mini-successes. I started a new project after requesting the move, and some personal projects started to gain traction.
My second week was mainly failures.
What did I do? I cried on Monday, this was followed by the next failure on Tuesday and another on Wednesday and finally on Thursday. By Tuesday I’d already decided that what made me cry wasn’t worth crying over. As Dalai Lama puts it: Sometimes not getting what you want is a wonderful stroke of luck... and my instinct agrees. So instead of continuing to feel sorry for myself I decided to look ahead and persevere. I recognised each failing for what it was... a challenge to either exercise the strength to walk away from something, or and opportunity to try again but with a new approach and the added wisdom that failing in the first place afforded me.
No matter what, we should always look to get back up and move forwards. If you don’t believe me - check out @willsmith highlight on failing over and over, and you’ll get the gist. No one ever got anywhere by playing it safe. Stand up, reach for the stars, get knocked down, and get back up again for another day 💫 and when it pays off (which it will if you’re persistent and consistent) you’ll feel like you earned it and appreciate it far more than having been handed everything from the get go. This is my touchstone photo. 3 years old with my first dog. It’s scary to put myself out there at my age, to change directions and start showing my MAGIC for REAL. It’s hard some days to properly honor my shadow side while working so hard to create a Magical business centered around finding the light. I take hits everyday for even mentioning the words “love” or “light” on my website or in my videos. I believe that we can still live in the murk and keep the light on too. I lived 50 years in the shadowy darkness, but the last 2 years I’ve figured out how to spend most of my time in the light (and stay MAGIC). I’m creating a place that hopefully makes you feel good and to see what’s possible in balancing the two sides of ourselves. I still love my Monster High dolls, I will always love animals and I’ll continue to read the Tarot my own way. I live in integrity now. I’m quirky and I’ll never be a “grown up”, but I do love how I live and that I can even muster the courage to keep posting videos and photos despite wanting to run and hide every day. "The new edict comes in the wake of a recent Italian law that decreed lobsters can't be kept on ice in restaurant kitchens.Switzerland's decision is applauded by Professor Robert Elwood, emeritus professor in ecology, evolution, behaviour and environmental economics at Queens University, Belfast.Elwood has conducted a series of experiments that suggest crustaceans are sentient and that boiling them alive is inhumane. 'With the data we know, it is highly likely that the animal will be in pain,' he says. 'We give protection to birds and mammals, currently we give very little protection to decapod crustaceans -- lobsters and crabs -- and the question comes, why is there this difference?' Elwood's studies suggest crustaceans will make serious life and death decisions when exposed to pain. In experiments, hermit crabs were quick to abandon a shell if it was exposed to a large electric shock. 'They are really giving up a very valuable resource that means life to them, essentially, in order to escape from the noxious stimulus,' explains Elwood.The scientist says he is pleased governments are considering this data and making changes accordingly. 'It's a positive move, the Swiss are looking at a potential problem and trying to deal with it,' he says.But for Elwood, this is only the first step in addressing this issue.
