Go confidently in the direction of your dreams. Live the life you have imagined - Henry D Thouau I have less than 20 days for this all or nothing campaign. I am selling sewing lessons, sewing kits, and more in exchange for your donations that will go towards the purchase of this awesome truck. I want to operate a mobile sewing lab on this revamped step van. If you would like to support please click the link in my bio. Thanks a million. #isew#sew#sewing#sewist#sewcialists#fundraiser#donatenow#support#womeninbiz
Finishing up projects left in my to-do bin for weeks and years. 1) Little girl dress refashion from a thrift store button-up I found 4+ years ago. 2) Lil peanut leggings made from leggings of mine that were riddled with holes. 3) Finally put my double needle on the machine to hem the cat leggings. Success!
Turning this gorgeous sparkly linen from @firecrackerfabrics into a #willowtank , but the sparkly bits of the linen feels too scratchy on my skin. Solution: spend hours cutting leftover fabrics into bias binding and making the inside of my new top very very pretty!
My personal best nine from this year, according to y’all. Looking back I realize I was basically just making pants and bras or bikinis. That’s one way to roll. 👖👙
I’ve been debating for the past year whether I should start a personal Instagram account or not. But work and life are all one thing for me, and I get overwhelmed at the idea of “curating” yet another stream. I love sharing more day to day snapshots in stories, and saving the more Closet Case connected things for our main feed. That may change in the future but for now it still feels good for me to blend a mix of personal and brand related content on the same feed. Where do you stand on mixing business and pleasure on social media?

Made a @grainlinestudio #lindensweatshirt for @ohkaymoy because I believe every woman entering their 26th year of life needs a comfortable sweatshirt with forest animals on it (she says they look like the animal busts people hang on their walls.) Happy Birthday, Sister!
Tawittawoooo! These cute lovely owls are handprinted on top of another floral design, you can see the floral design showing through the owl. I love the mix of the designs and also the colour way. #owllove
The Fishtail Skirt from @thatwendyward's first book A Beginner's Guide to Dressmaking.
This was my first zipper! It's not perfect, but it's functional and I'm happy with it for my first try. Now I need to practice my zipper sewing skills!
#sewmystyle2018 My first self sewn t-shirt #sunnydress#fridaypatterncompany I did a cheater FBA and cut the largest size as fabric didn’t have much stretch. Quick sew. Fabric was inherited from Grandma. It’s been in the stash for almost 3 years, washed and dried. It still smelled like grandma’s sewing room when I steamed the bands. 😢
We all have that hidden pile of UFOs, don't we? They might be out of sight, but they're never out of mind. This week, I'm planning to finish off these three garments: a skirt that needs a zip; a cardigan that needs its buttons; and a jumper that needs its arms blocked and sewn on. I'm excited to get these finished even if I won't be able to wear them until the weather cools down a bit.
I have to confess that I finished the pink cardigan in June (you might have seen the video of it at the time) and I've put off sewing the buttons on since then. That's almost seven months! What's the longest time you've waited to finish off a garment?
Sunday Sunny!! Finished my January project in the #sewmystyle2018 sewing challenge. I made the size XS with mods based on my measurements/preferences. I leveled off the shoulders, made the front scope neck narrower, shortened sleeves, increased the waist shaping & did a straight hem. I was too lazy to make knit bias binding, so I just used some folder elastic which accounts for the bit of rippling in the neckline, but I can live with it. Print fabric is 2-way stretch poly/lycra/spandex blend that I had in my stash and sleeves are repurposed from a RTW T-shirt. I didn’t do a muslin, but did baste and tried on for fit first. I usually always serge knits, but opted to just sew this one with a narrow zig zag stitch. I’m very happy with my first make of 2018! @fridaypatterncompany @jessicalorraine01 .
