Linda’s Story > Linda is our Inspection Supervisor and has worked at Lavenham for nearly 20 years. Our Inspection department is made up many sections. Primarily Linda’s team will carry out the first inspection process where all jackets that are cut but not stitched, are inspected to make sure there are no mis-stitches, thread tension problems or flaws in the fabric. Then half way through our production line we have 2nd Inspection where our jackets are checked once again to make sure they are measuring to spec and the work docket is being followed correctly. Finally once the garment is completed there is Final Inspection where every garment is fully inspected, loose threads trimmed and one in every bundle of 10 jackets is fully measured. After this process the jackets move on to the marking up section, where each garment is chalked for the placement of its fastenings, then on to either our press stud section or button, button hole and whipping section and finally onto packing and dispatch. Linda has a large team of very diligent staff and is a key member of our supervisory team ✂️
Люблю портретные снимки своих девочек 🖤 Моя мама говорит - да у них же и лица толком нет, какой там портрет 😂 а мне наоборот приелись головастики с нарисованными мордашками (нет, они вполне милые, но уже повсюду просто)
Morning folks I have two weekend workshops coming up in September, the first is Lingerie Making on the 9th & 10th and the second is Ethical Dressmaking & Pattern Cutting on the 16th & 17th. Both are suitable for beginners who want to get a great intro into sewing your own clothes as well as those who have more experience but want to expand their skills. You have until midnight Friday to use the code EARLYBIRDY to receive 10% off on the Ethical Dressmaking course. I only have 3 places left on the Lingerie weekend so I would recommend booking that soon too ✨ both are held at the @bristoltextilequarter and will be my last courses on Bristol for a little while cos I'm setting sail in Autumn for a little adventure x
Taken on the last day of our holiday last week. This dress is probably one of my absolute favourite me made items. I made it about two years ago and I still love it. It is a self drafted copy of the Colette Wren dress made out of some lovely jersey fabric. If it's a bit colder I love pairing it with red accessories too.
