One Week One Pattern #owop17 DAY 3 | You guys!! I won yesterday's #owop17 !!! Massive thank you to Sheona from @sewisfaction and a special thank you to @likesewamazing . Can't wait pick out my Tilly pdf pattern. Today though...The Ogden Slip. A few weeks ago on my vlog I asked where the best place was to buy slips. Alot of people responded and advised me to try making my own. Well did you know that the #ogdencami is perfect for a slip hack. All you need do is lengthen it. I used a tan scuba that I had bought in Ireland for a different project but never ended up using. It was like, meant to be Of course I wanted to wear the slip all day so I used a free #cottonandchalk pattern from #simplysewingmag lengthened that top too, and made a poncho dress out of chiffon from the sew over it online store (that I also brought back in my luggage this past summer). The black fabric is a cotton found here in Cameroon called Bazin. I was hoping to do a vlog post tonight but I'm on the fence as to whether I have the energy after partying hard all day celebrating the twins' birthday. It was a lovely party btw, I think they loved being made a fuss of. So you may see me tonight, you may not. @helens_closet @sewmesunshine.uk #sewistsofinstagram
#2017bestnine I'm choosing to look at the green grass right where I am today. Choosing to feel the warm sun and be thankful that my kids can take a bath outside. Because those snow photos from London are getting me down. My husband has been stuck in the north of Cameroon for 3 days due to excessive DUST and the city water has been turned off in my neighbourhood. So I found that generator thingy and decided to reflect on a year filled with so much excitement and joy. Reflect on the discovery of a hobby that ligitimately helps me through these down times. Reflect on a community that inspires and motivates me. And be thankful for all those things!!! I've reached the end of this year pocessing more knowledge on dressmaking than I ever thought was possible (with all that's going on outside of my sewing room). And most importantly I feel excited anticipation for all the patterns i've got stashed away on my husband's computer that I'll be printing out, sticking together and creating for 2018. Because above all: HOPE. Thank you to everyone who has tapped that heart and in doing so said "well done, good job, keep going". The support has been just as valuable as the creative process. Cheers for an excellent year 🍾 #africanwaxprint#pinsandwaxprints#sewistsofinstagram#sewingvlogger
It just dawned on me...this kinda looks like a candy cane! Ah no emoji 🎄 #I ♥️christmastime Well I just finished this adorable little top for a friend's daughter who is 2 today 🎈 It's the first piece of clothing I've made for anyone other than myself and my children. A milestone in my book. And I'm starting to realise that I really like making children's clothes! For a more real look go to my Insta stories. Time for wrapping! 🎁 #sewistsofinstagram#sewingforkids
We’ve just stocked up the website with some of our most popular Beatrice Ponte Roma - Marl Grey, Black & Navy are back in stock. Viscose blend, soft and warm, perfect for this chilly weather!
Seriously in love with this @inthefolds Collins Top made up in a blush pink linen from @wearethefabricstore. This is fabric origami at its most awesome - I think I need a couple more of these 🤔♥️🎉
Considering the amount of sewing plans I have left for December this might be premature 😜
Y'all, the girls at our local grocer got together and made Lo a batch of her fave cookies AND threw in some of her other fave treats!❤💕 I'm whipping up a few pouches for them using this @rae.ritchie for @dearstellafab print from my stash. Any ideas what teenage girls would like inside them...besides gift cards?🎁🎄🎅
The ol' Pfaff 2170 is offline after turning out some beautiful free-standing lace pieces. Lace work generates a ton of lint, and I've been cleaning the machine between pieces - but I think some bits may have found their way into critical places that are messing up my tension. I'm trying to get this beast back up and running so I can finish my Christmas projects. *sigh* Embroidery machines can be such divas. #pfaff#sewistsofinstagram

I'm so ridiculously proud of this bag! It's quite simple aside from the zipper pocket -- a pain in the ass to install, but so worth it. Next time will be easier.
The fabrics were super cheap: the green is an upholstery-weight from an op shop; the paisley is from the remnant bin at Lincraft. So much winning!
Sing me a song Sassenach 💫💚 Lil' preview of the look that will be posted tomorrow ! In the meantime you can still take a look at my previous upcycled look ! Link in bio like the pros 😙
Today was Crafts and Cookies at Stronghold Kids Club ❤️ We made personalized ornaments, had cookies and cocoa, and enjoyed one more day of play before the holidays. Looking forward to more creative play in 2018! (I kept forgetting to take pictures of the kids crafting today; doh 😅). #happyholidays#holidaycrafts
Going into the weekend like.... ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I finished this jumpsuit a few weeks ago. It’s @mimigstyle #thelexijumpsuit from @sewsewdefmag. I made it with a very slinky chocolate ribbed knit that I got at @millendstore. The fabric was such a pain to sew, because it’s so slinky and stretchy. I was so happy to be finished! This jumpsuit is so comfortable #secretpajamas and it makes me feel like an 80’s film star. WIN! 📸 @ehhserrano
Banged the snaps on these @brindilletwig #haremromper for last-minute niece/nephew Christmas gifts. And I can’t believe I still have some of this fabric left. I bought enough for one linden and have, so far, made two lindens and two baby rompers with enough leftover for some baby hats. #wow
