Sigh. Although it doesn't actually say 'for girls' and 'for boys' on the boxes, the implied gendering of these watches is pretty clear. I will not be getting one for either my daughter or son- last time I checked, male ballerinas and female astronauts were both badass and time knows not gender. 👩🏾🚀💃🏻
🤢 I can’t even begin on how disgusting this headline from #thesun was. However, if you read into what is ACTUALLY going on, the #churchofengland has issued guidance for its schools urging them to refrain from encouraging gender stereotypes on children. Well done @thechurchofengland . As someone who was loosely associated with a church denomination a few years back, that had one of its core beliefs as the superiority of men over women, I am super impressed. Next onto #womenbishops and addressing the #genderpaygap yep? 🙌🏽
Reverse racism is NOT real.
- What is it then?
It's called discrimination. Poc (people of colour) can treat white people as bad as white people can treat poc, but the difference is that "white people hate" isn't based on the white people's worse social positions, because white people always have the highest social positions.
- Why isn't it real?
You can't be racist towards whites, racism is based on the social position races have, which whites are always highest in in the world. Same goes for example for sexism. It's discrimination, not "racism against whites", you don't say "sexism against men" either because it's discrimination.
- The real definition of racism:
Racism is basically intolerance towards a race that hasn't the same good history your race has nor the same social position your race has. It isn't just about colour, which is very common to think. Racism is discrimination that targets the races that socially have it worse and that don't have a good history.
White people know all their history and are highest in social situations, therefore you cannot be racist against whites - they are not oppressed in our world. It's just called discrimination and you can of course treat someone as badly either way. So let's end this idea of reverse racism because it isn't a real thing and it can never be real.
Please tag people who needs to read this, let's spread the common sense around the world!🙌🏻
When one receives an email at work addressed "Dear Sirs," from a magazine about leadership, one responds in the following way: "Hi [name of sender], Thank you for your email, unfortunately it’s not something that is relevant to us at the present time.
Just as a recommendation though, I would encourage the use of Sir AND Madam in the preface to the email. Solely addressing it to ‘Sirs’ followed by content regarding leadership stories implies that the invitation to submit “in-depth articles that inspire fellow leaders and innovators around the globe” is extended primarily to men, inspiring other men. In a world where gender equality is more progressive than ever, the address to men alone is something of an outdated approach, which I’m sure is not a way of thinking [name of publication] adopts. Let’s encourage men and women alike to inspire each other.
Just some food for thought, and I wish you all the best with the article.

Markeins Pierre director of @standing_laserie knows that some women are creeped out by men talking to them on the street (#metoo ), so he developed his own technique for approaching women in the street.

Growing up and getting my university degree in #Russia , I know that the scale of #metoo / #ятоже /#именятоже there is devastating. And the ice of silence has very little potential to break because due to the local culture, whatever happens between man and woman, it is woman to blame. She is the one provoking, she is the one not opposing, she's the one dealing with the consequences. And a man...well he's a man. Being a man used to explain everything. I can sign under #metoo incidents over 20 times and those cases would never ever seem any strange to anybody at that time, probably not now either. Several photographers, one very famous movie director, men from the restaurants, clubs, just from the streets. Commenting your look, touching you, whistling to you, stopping their car besides you and trying to get you in, trying to get you to have sex with them. I must admit not all men were like that and they are rather exceptions. Something must #change . #woman#womenrights#metoo#stopsexualabuse#sexism#russia#protectwomen#womentogether
Fascinating - what do you think? > "The dad-bod has gained a curious cultural status of late, embodying the celebration of 'real' masculinity. Maxim Kelly's film throws a spotlight on these everyday bodies within the context of the most retrograde event - the Miss Universe swimsuit competition. Here the paunch takes center-stage." @nowness . . . "I was drawn to the idea of the dad-bod, because I am interested in subjects that have conflicting implications. The dad-bod reinforces gender-stereotypes, but it also turns the tables on them. It gives women a platform to speak in public about men in the way men have often talked about women." I don't feel like I've spoken any truths for a while. I've been basking gratefully in the brave confessions of others. Here's some I've been thinking:
I've put on weight. I know my body is not considered 'problematic' by bull shit conventional societal standards, but I've put on weight and it makes me uncomfortable.
I have roughly a two week (sometimes one?) Period a month where I am 'ok' with myself. Never happy. Just 'fine' with it. And then I feel like I've 'indulged' (whatever the fuck that's meant to mean) and anxiety creeps in telling me that I don't look good and I'm failing.
Isn't that funny? That I feel like the consumption of a few more cakes a week means I'm some way unsuccessful. (Yet, I should importantly add, I don't think this of anyone else. I don't look at everyone who isn't thin or toned or whatever as celebs and think they've failed. Only me. Patriarchy has a way of rendering you unable to be objective about your own personal body)
I know why. I'm obviously still trying pay our patriarchal society rent for existing as someone who possesses a vagina. It doesn't matter that I'm not a 'problem' body as thought conventionally by society (although, in the eyes of some men and, indeed, some womyn, my body is one that does not meet standards of traditional femininity), I still feel it. It lives with me. I carry it around. I'm in dialogue (or, rather, argument) with it every day.
I hope if you're reading this, you'll know that as a womyn, living the lives we do, I am with you. Whatever your version of anxiety looks like, about whatever feminine standards are being pressed upon you, I am with you. I hope that as with other feminist consciousness raisings, reading this from another womyn brings you comfort. Makes you feel solidarity. Sets you on fire.
"I Own You," painting by sonia feat. thedodobird. Mark Zuckerberg want your nudes? It was a weird headline, but ultimately true. FB is launching a program to "protect" people from fotos they don't want on the internet. Here's the catch. You have to actually fully trust FB and send them the foto which they will then review. Sorry wat? @facepinpoint will protect your most private images, and apparently 54% of adults have them, and too large a number of women have been blackmailed. The current reality of digital sex abuse is hellish..but the technology IS their to protect EVERYBODY. Check them out: @facepinpoint // My first thought was this will be a beacon of light to people who've been fearing success, and really STANDING UP in this world. If that was ever you, and you didnt think SHINING YOUR LIGHT was worth it. Fear no more. Major game changer. @facepinpoint // I'm gonna meet with & make sure our future 3rd party, green party, female, and grassroots leaders up to the next president are fully protected from hacked camera phones and blackmail. They should be fearless. Privacy rights are Human Rights. Jane Sanders was threatened and Bernie was robbed.
