Had another fabulous meal at Itacho, with some of our all-time favourites as well as new items. Our highlight of the night was this Hana Batake set that wowed us with generous serving of crab meat, tuna, ikura, tobiko, hotate and Uni. Mix and match with some sushi rolls buried underneath or just enjoy them on their own, this plate was bursting with flavours.
Do also check out some of their interesting new items such as Creative sushi set, or seasonal highlights like their bluefin tuna.
Five Spice Beef Noodle ($4.50) •
Foodpark @ Blk 823A
Awesome piece of creation with springy noodles, mince meat sauce topped with slices of well seasoned beef! 🍜 Xiao Long Bao($3.50/basket) in the background would be the quintessential cold-weather dim sum!
My favourite part of the chicken (as a food, not as a pet, or a decoration, or whatever else) is the wing. Specifically, the mid-joint. Grilled, stewed or fried, I love them all. These Cali Wings ($18) are a good example of a whole plate of chicken mid-joint wings that I would happily polish off. They weren't doused in any complicated seasonings, because they don't need it. They were delightfully crisp, without being greasy. Just one of these, or even two, would definitely not be enough!
Thank you @cali.singapore for hosting us, and @foodie_quest for the invite!
I am lousy at taking photos. Famous for posting blur pics when I just started Instagram in 2014. Until this day. Some photos posted were still blur. Lol. Today Mosburgersg reposted one of my photos. Which is very rewarding to me. Lol. Seldom got this kind of chance. Especially is something I like to eat. And has been eating since 1995. Thank you Mosburgersg.
Lamb is a challenging flavour to get right, but our team has bravely attempted Roasted Lamb, served with fragrant Basmati rice. The meat is great, but the spices make this dish. Available for a limited time only.
The second stop of the Accor Hotels Food Festival trail was to Ellenborough Market Cafe to sample their peranakan classics housed in a Tiffin Set ($47++ for two pax), specially curated for the Accor Food & Wine Festival 2017. Starting off with a fish maw soup that’s light but yet pack an umami lunch, followed by the main highlight; the Tiffin Set consists of items such as Stir-fried Chinchalok Pork, Ikan Assam Pedas, Lady Fingers with Sambal Belachan and Turmeric Rice. The stand outs for me has got to be the chinchalok pork which has an acquired flavour that appeals to me while the ikan assam pedas was just pure brilliant. To cap off the meal, diners will be served with a plate of nyonya kueh in true peranakan style.

Hmm how should we begin 🤤we've had many poke bowls in our life time but this is probably the most glorious one we've come across. Flavor explosion of both taste and texture is the first thing we'd say and indeed it's packed full of all the yummy stuff: brown rice, spicy mayo salmon, kimchi, tomato, pineapple, wakame salad, tobiko and crispy SALMON SKIN ! It's also good to know that we're feeding our tastebud and health all at the same time 🙂

Ice cream is definitely one of the most sought after desserts in the sweltering heat of Singapore! In my hand is the cotton candy bubble gum ice cream puff from Hokkaido icecream puff in Haji Lane! Indeed, looks can be deceiving! The ice cream lacked the creaminess that I was expecting and the puff was hard. Definitely an instagram-worthy dessert but the taste was disappointing.

Ngoh Hiang Burger ($18.90) 🍔 .
Tender and crunchy handmade Ngoh Hiang patty, made with quality minced pork and hand chopped water chestnuts. We 💛 this too.
We find the bottled Ondeh Ondeh x Expresso bit too thick and sweet for our liking though.
Steak & Foie Gras burger @amarasingapore shutters restaurant 🐮🍔
The ingredients are pretty impressive and the burger looks rly appetizing. But taste wise, it's quite disappointing 😕
Steak is tasteless, foie gras is not creamy & egg is not runny. Also, the ingredients don't complement each other at all 👎
But the portion is big and it comes with fries & salad. So not too bad I guess 🥗🍟

This Fried Hokkien mee from Seng Kee Local Delights exceeded my expectations! Being a fan of Hokkien mee, I have tried this local dish at many different stalls and still this plate stood out as one of the best. On top of being fragrant, this plate had a really unique pleasant flavour that I have not tasted in other plates of Hokkien mee.
