Honestly, sometimes it seems this kid keeps it's more real than most of the people I come into contact with. He's my true homie and my dawg for life. In only a few weeks he'll be 3 years old. That's OG status in dog years. He's in his prime. Though he looks adorable, and is very friendly to everyone, he weighs 92 lbs and is very protective of his family. I feel bad for anyone who thinks they can break into this house. Their day would take a turn real quick lol. Plus ironically as he is clearly a pitbull he was named after Mr. Bedroom Bully himself Shabba Ranks. Shouts to my dawg Shabba! 🐶🐺 #dawg#dog#pitbull#pitbullsofinstagram#irideformyniggasdawg#bully#shabba#shabbaranks
In the U.S. and around the world, #ShabbaRanks was probably the most well-known dancehall artist of the 1990s. He was able to make music that appealed to American hip-hop/R&B audiences but remained true to the dancehall culture of his native Jamaica. Songs like "Mr. Loverman" are great examples of the compatibility and shared history between Jamaican music and hip-hop. ▪️▪️▪️▪️▪️▪️▪️▪️▪️▪️▪️▪️▪️▪️▪️▪️▪️▪️▪️ Just as Jamaica celebrates its 55th year of independence from England, #JayZ & @damianmarley's "BAM" has given us an opportunity to look deeper at the connections between Jamaican music and hip-hop. The song features sharp wordplay from masters of both hip-hop & dancehall, along with the classic sampling of @sisternancy's #BamBam .
Hit the link in my bio let this week's #BodyAndSoulRecords mix of reggae, dancehall, and hip-hop take you from Jamaica to New York and back.
Featuring tracks from @bobmarley, @damianmarley, @kranium, @jsullivanmusic, and more!
