The Beauty of Solitude.
If we listen enough, then we will know that God is leading us to a place of solitude when He has something to say to us. He is leading us to a place where we can find ourselves all alone with Him.
Blessings to all!
The meaning of life is just to be alive. It is so plain and so obvious and so simple. And yet, everybody rushes around in a great panic as if it were necessary to achieve something beyond themselves. (-Alan Watts)
This is such a big truth in my life and I'm eager to share my learnings with you, my friends. I love talking about how to simply 'be' and regain your inner-peace, while freely and joyfully streamlining your life. It IS possible to do great and beautiful things at a pace that suits you.
We DON'T have to be caught up in the mainstream mania. We can join together and encourage each other to go slow. Tell yourself, "There is no rush to my life. I can appreciate this moment, not rushing ahead to what's next.”

i visited @redhawkcoffee today — i adore their cozy + artistic energy (with a side of strong espresso) — but these minimal, ink + watercolor illustrations no longer hang for purchase.
this is a memoir for them.

Gimme dat first pump! I’m pretty certain our house is free of germs and sickness after a month of being knocked out. Hooray!
I guess it’s time for a little life update for you all since I’ve been a tad MIA. We’ve got the green light to get moving to Orange County as soon as we are ready. And by ready I mean, get our current house all packed up, get it re-rented, find a house to buy, get an offer to be accepted, drive 6hrs and remodel and move in. [totally simple, right?] And let me just say, finding a house to buy in December and Jan is not the easiest. I think we’ve decided on a semi-fixer upper in either the east side of Costa Mesa or Newport Beach and just opened up the search to include Huntington Beach...so if you guys have any tips for us first time home buyers, I’m ready for em!
I just love my little niece. When I photograph her, it's so much fun, she likes to do little poses herself and I just follow along. She's so artistic, just like her mom. I love photographing and working with children. Their spirits, imagination, and even occasional moodiness make my job so fun! It's different every time because even the same child changes so quickly. 🖤🖤🖤 #childhood#momentslikethis#loveher#selfposed#bnw_magic
My baby boy is two today!! My pregnancy with him was very unexpectedly bombarded with the cancer diagnosis of our youngest girl. I forgot I was even pregnant most of that time. His gender was a surprise and boy, were we surprised after three girls! My husband stayed inpatient with Eliza to finish her last 2 months of chemo just days after his birth. It sounds like a terrible situation but were absolutely drenched in grace. It all went so incredibly smoothly. I had never felt so empowered as I did during his birth and then his newborn stage is all just a dreamy blur to me now. We were held in peaceful prayer and God was most certainly very near.
I usually have another baby right about this time so baby fever is in full gear! Happy Birthday, baby boy!
This sweet little girl is turning four at the end of January. Her mom has perfectly captured these little details of her daughter. What a beautiful series, Amber.
Also, I’m crossing my fingers that there won’t be any balloon 🎈mishaps for her birthday. I’m looking forward to photos that celebrate her big day. 😉😘

A tiny sneak peek of Paper Lover’s February subscription, few boxes available on both of our shops; varalusikka.fi and Etsy. We are reaching fast the point we can’t take any new subscriptions in next few months, so if you want to make sure you get your monthly paper treasure, we suggest considering a longer subscription of 6 or 12 months (available only on our main webshop). There might be room for one or two trial subscriptions in next months, but we can’t guarantee it, as most of our subscribers have chosen 12 month subscriptions, and therefore there will be no new releases for trials! We are happy and honored that all of You love our boxes so much, and we are working to find a way to make room for at least few new subscriptions for each month. However, as each box is all about vintage and handmade treasures, it’s difficult to find enough vintage items and make huge mass production of something that should be an exclusive treasure for Paper Lovers.
We were doing our usual 2 pm scroll through my Instagram feed yesterday when Emmie saw a picture of her friend Ruby practicing her letters, so naturally she asked me to pour some sugar into this baking tray and she spent the afternoon practicing “E for Emilie” and “O for Ophelia” ♥️
I have killed every single plant I have ever owned (I once turned a cactus into jelly) but today I was inspired by this little food garden project to give a balcony herb garden another good go. .
Cultivate central designs and creates vibrant, ecological and compact food gardens that will inspire children and their communities to live sustainably, shape resilient cities and make growing food second nature. .
So leave me all your green fingered wisdom in the comments below so that I don't just butcher a load of perfectly healthy plants... again.
New job reflections: As if a new job at @pivotalsoftware isn't exciting enough, there's also a plant shop in my new work building! A plant shop! If I had to leave The Iron Yard, surely this is the best best thing.
@poncecitymarket also has a ramen shop, a seafood place with raw oysters, and an Anthropologie. It's almost like someone was trying to make me happy when they planned this place. <3
(Okay, total transparency, I'm more about lush green plants, not the cacti and succulents they mostly have here. The watering cans and pots they sell are already on my wish list, though, and maybe they'll read my post and bring in some asparagus ferns or let me contribute some spider plants and monstera babies!)
