At school, we were sent out a google form, it had stuff like gender, age, name etc. One of my teachers wrote in "female" "male" "non-binary"
which is great, but another teacher removed the non-binary option, making the other teacher pissed.
the teacher who removed the non-binary option asked my opinion on her removing it - her reasoning for removing it was that she has a transgender nephew and that it was a very difficult journey for her nephew and that it wasn't simply a click of a button.
i kind of see her reasoning, but??? no?? if a kid identifies on non binary, they can click a fucking button to say that they are - as i do to say that im a girl, it's not that difficult.
she was basically saying that being trans or non binary is difficult so kids in my class shouldnt think that it was as easy as clicking a button but honestly that logic just doesnt add up.
what do you guys think? im cis so idk much but i really disagree with my teacher
