Day 15 of 21 - One extra hour
What would you do with an extra hour in your day? That extra hour could be yours and today some members of Huel HQ in the UK did exactly that. Check out our Instagram Story to see what we got up to and see the full video at my.huel.com/WakeUpEarly
@al_humphrey suggests that an adventure is just a state of mind, that actually it’s just about pushing yourself hard and doing your best. It could be short, simple, local and cheap - adventures are accessible to everyone. Work 9-5, adventure 5-9! 🧗♀️
Our morning was about adventure, or a microadventure, but you can do anything. Read your favorite book, drink coffee on the sofa or just wake up slow, but be sure to get up early and maximize your morning. We expect you will arrive for work more relaxed and focused for it. 👍
As I wait for my Uber, standing in the warm rain of Florida, I meet a gentleman who worked with the General Manager of the Montreal Expos, Dan Duquette, in 1994...he shared his experience when baseball went on strike and the World Series was canceled, the year the Montreal Expos could have won. I learned all of this when I made eye contact and smiled with an elder gentleman who noticed me enjoying the rain. #simplepleasures
no doesn’t mean no, it means next opportunity ✨ .
I attended the @renewuconf this weekend and oh my it was an amazing experience 😍 I realized how incredibly important balance is in our lives, to go after what we love and prioritize your life to fit what you truly enjoy 👋🏻✨
Give me a ❤️ if you just laughed out loud.
I just laughed so loud my husband asked me what was so funny. .
Seriously tho...like foreal. What kind of question is that!?
Lately, I’ve been watching the movie first just to see how much better the book is!! Lol!

[ The mind diet - update ]
In early December, I promised to not spend time on my phone in the bedroom for the rest of 2017. It was done during the #BEYOUtifulU challenge by @cuchira, and I think I promised to let you guys know how it went.
And it went GREAT! I am also proud to say that I have continued with this habit of not letting my phone through the bedroom door. In the picture you can see where I leave it every night. It’s not far away at all and I still hear the alarm. No worries there. I also turn off wifi, bluetooth and put it in silent mode. I think I brought my phone into the bedroom 2 or 3 times, but realized really fast, «Ohh, what am I doing???» No biggie to leave it outside again. Just proud to kick the habit and to notice what I had been doing for years before, without even thinking. Because habits, good or bad, are often done without thinking.
The BIG difference is that my mornings and evenings are a lot more harmonic. No scrolling meaningless (to me) feeds, the news and gossip about the Kardashians on snapchat. I could easily spend 30 minutes doing that without even noticing. It’s a gigantic time thief. I am less distraced when I write my morning pages in the morning and my list of gratitude in the evening. Sometimes I even forget to turn on the wifi in the morning, which I think is amazing. I am getting more and more used to being «off», and I love that development.
I truly recommend to try it yourself, maybe for 3 days or a week. See how it goes. Can it work out for you as it did for me? «Your diet isn’t only what you eat. It’s what you watch…it’s what you read…it’s what you listen to. So, I’m mindful of what I ingest.” Saul Williams
I left the house at 8am and I've only just got back now. Work was mentally exhausting but then met up with a friend and had a really good meeting. My hair desperately needs a wash and I'm dreaming of having a bath but am drained so... Maybe tomorrow.
Just LOOK at this treasure I found today at Ross. This chest with a world map on it. I can’t get over it 🙈😍 It was only $13 because there was no price tag on it. Then I found this Passion translation of the WHOLE New Testament including Psalms and Proverbs for $7!
Ross makes dreams come true, people.
Brigsby cried (alligator tears and screams, not just whines) a lot this morning (which is pretty unusual). We spilled blueberries all over the breakfast room. B busted his lip on the stroller when I hit a bump while we were walking. And I’m doing my best to avoid added sugars today. 😜
Some perspective, though: Matt fed B breakfast and let me sleep in a little this morning before he left for work. The weather was nice enough for a walk outside. I’m going to get a pedicure in a little while. And Brigsby gave me unsolicited sugar right on the mouth earlier this afternoon. 😍
It has definitely not been the worst day. It has also not been the easiest day. But there’s a whole lot of happy in today.

Have you read my blog recently? There's a new post talking about disconnecting and turning off the data on your phone. Does anyone else find this hard to do? I always reach for my phone automatically, scrolling through apps and emails without really registering what I'm looking at. Last weekend I turned my data off while we were away, and it's definitely something that I'll be doing on a more regular basis
Did you know that the first ad for ice cream in the US was in the New York gazette on May 12, 1777? It might be cold in your neck of the woods now, but nothing gives me pleasure than having ice cream stuffed to the bottom of the cone. This is one of my simple pleasures from childhood and I will be enjoying it till I'm 99. What are some of your simple pleasures?

This is what happens when on of the Costello girls is poorly. They all become the closest of friends (& watch Nativity 3 in the middle of January). As an aside, why has no-one ever told me our wallpaper looks like vaginas?
Most incredible experience so far this year... Free running peacooks in the famous Castle de S. Jorge in Lisbon. I followed and watched them running and flying around for 45 minutes. Their feathering is outstanding... Have never seen it so close up front. WOW...! What a priceless encounter for me and normal apparence on that spot. #ThoseSpecialMoments#Peacook#PeakcookFeathers#Portugal#Lisbon#WildLifeInTheCity
