8-26-13 Day 129
I guess I didn't realize how lonely I would feel with Tumbleweeds absence. I knew we would be departing ways once I reached Trout Lake because I had to go into town for a resupply and Tumble was just moving straight through to White Pass. I thought I would be prepared for that but I suppose I wasn’t. He has only been gone for an hour so but I already miss him. Even if we weren't talking to each other it was nice to have him around. Just exist in each others presence. they day feels just a little darker and the Washington wilderness feels a little scarier. Scattered rain again for most of the day. Only a couple glimpses of the sun. I cursed the sun in the desert but I miss it now more than ever. Put in around 18 miles. Made it to a wonderful little campsite with a fire pit, benches and a creek. Decided to build a fire to raise spirits and dry out gear. It would be better if I had someone to shear it with. Tomorrow I will hitch into Trout Lake for a resupply. Hopefully all runs smoothly. Don't know if I would be able to handle living in settle. Just going one day without the sun in hard for me.
8-25-13 Day 128
Today was a reminder of where I am. In the great state of Washington it rains….and it rains a lot. Rained off and on for most of the day leaving me soaked to the bone and cold. It wouldn't have been nearly as bad if the rain didn't collect of the plant life which hung over the overgrown trail leaving you wet as a dog from the waist down. Handled it fine in the morning but it wore on my spirits as the day persisted. By the end of the day I was exhaled, cold, wet and just plain angry at the universe .Eventually we made it to camp and once my tent was set up and food was in my system things began to turn around. It is nice to know when things get bad they get better. Looking forward to a nice warm night cuddled up in my sleeping bag. #PCT#hiking#adventure#journal#thruhike#tailmagic#walking#simplicity#pacificcresttrail#nature#rainyday#moutains#fallphotography
