I heard the most ridiculous thing ever today. I thought with a few years of experience in rehoming dogs, there would be absolutely nothing else that I find appalling. A dog who has been adopted for over a year will now potentially be returned to the shelter cos he has skin issues!? I still can’t believe this. If your child has eczema, will u give him/her up? Can’t emphasize enough that a pet regardless it’s a dog or cat, it’s family. How could you abandon your family? I was feeling unsettled but managed to seek some comfort from two great dogs that I met earlier i.e. Benny (on the left) and Tinker (on the right). ❤️ Benny is in the midst of homestay with adopters doing their best to ensure it’s a smooth transition for him and for themselves. Wishing him best of luck! Tinker already has a home that she calls her own for a good 13 years and beyond. Good night world and I hope it will be a better day tomorrow.... #dogstagram#dogsofinstagram#dogsofinstagramsg#sosd#mongrel#singaporedogs#singaporepets#sgdogs#sgpets#singaporespecial#labrador#retriever#adoptdontshop#dogsarefamily#ilovedogs
Meet Phoebe, a 6 year old Singapore Special, who needs help with her anxiety and probably needs to go back to basics of just being a dog. She had started being a bit more wary and snappy at family members. Her owner is soon to give birth to a second child and so the family definitely needs help with getting Phoebe back on track.
She came to us totally disregarding the human and unfocused. So we have to build a rapport with her first. Knowing that she loves to run, we make use of that and introduced her to the treadmill and went cycling with her. It’s just Day 2 but it’s still a good start.
[Throwback to 22 Jan 18] - Much progress with Techie! He now comes up to hooman to sniff and allows hooman to pat him! So hooman had him collared with leash for some time to get him used to it. With treats so he associates it with good things! Good thing is he doesn’t struggle with the leash on. Bad thing is he freezed instead. Maybe he thinks the leash is immobiliser. 😅 Next session hooman will try to get him to walk more in his kennel with the leash on. U can do it Techie! One step at a time, literally. #onestepatatime#nanyangtechie#sgdogs#singaporespecial#adoptdontshop
Meet Timo, a 3 year old Special who is looking for a forever home to call his own.
This boy needs a family that has the patience and willingness to put in effort to earn his trust and get to know his quirks and habits. Timo is up to date on his vaccination, microchipped, and is of HDB approved size under Project ADORE.
Timo thrives best in a family without any kids, with an all adult family unit with prior experience with rescue dogs, and receptive to receiving training to ensure Timo gets well-adjusted to a new life.
Timo is a sensitive young adult, and gears towards females. We will be happy to provide the necessary tools and trainer to the right adopter so that Timo may be integrated as part of your family.
If you'd like to meet Timo, please send us a PM or text to 98455270 or 97890569.
Adopt a Special, adopt Timo!
I take my job very seriously!!! 😎
While this isn't the first time Leyla has been in a studio, she still got a tad spooked by the lighting equipment that surrounded the "stage". However, with some encouragement and treats, she managed to push past her fears and got the job done!
Interesting story about our bowties. When Bark-a-Tree first asked us to model and mentioned that a bowtie would be a good accessory, Hooman realised that Leyla and Kira didn't have any "nice" bowties! Like how is that possible??? Thankfully, @loyal.d responded to Hooman's SOS and we managed to get amazing bowties in time!

Video 1: Return of the #HokkienPeng dog! Love visual cues - practical and fun applications :) Video 2: Tried to teach Ding to walk backwards several months back but failed. Didn't try again until the past weekend, when I came across a tip to start out in a narrow space so that the dog can't wander off randomly. Ding picked it up really quickly with that!
