Finished character design sheet for the Staff Wielding Enforcer! This piece was a lot of fun to do and I really enjoyed what came out of this. Thank you to everyone who gave me feedback along the way especially when replying to my stories. I tried to incorporate ideas and suggestions that you all gave me. Hope you guys enjoy this and as always if you know someone who is interested in this kind of work/art as a hobby or professional please feel free to share it. Thank you to everyone again for all of your feedback and support!
-- Three years ago I worked at a pizza place in Woodbridge, VA.-- I had an incomplete biology degree. Student loan debt. No car. A history of unfinished projects, failures and half-assed attempts.
During this period I stopped creating.
I lost interest in drawing, writing, designing, sculpting, programming, soldering, sawing, hammering, taking shit apart. BUILDING.
I lost interest in the one thing that enabled me to MYTHOLOGIZE MY LIFE. The one thing I had complete control over.
Instead; I read everyone else's opinion. I watched everyone else's shit. I used technology created by someone more intelligent than I.
I began living in someone else's myth.
One day at work I made a STUPID BET with my friend that I could take a random word - "Peargorg" or " Pear Gorganzola" (the name of a pizza we made) and turn it into a recognizable brand name/style.
We laughed about it. He probably forgot about it.
I couldn't stop thinking about it.
I remember thinking, "If I could somehow pull this off, it would make an epic story." The kind of ambitious declaration people make when they are shit-faced with their friends, temporarily bursting with enthusiasm and motivation.
The kind of momentary passion that flares up and dies every night in bars across America.
No one held accountable the next day.
What kind of person would actually have the determination go through with something so improbable?
I had no idea.
BUT I KNEW I NEEDED TO BECOME THIS KIND OF PERSON.
PART 2 COMING SOON. #sketchbook#moleskine#sketchbookpro#micron#drawing#motivation#persistence#keepgoing#inktober
