Lesson Of The Day: Good things take time, consistency, and work.
I’m not here to insta-inspire or pep talk you. This is one of my biggest struggles (@chamberszac). My mind is easily distracted and often jumps from thing to thing. Social media shows us exactly what we want - fitness, status, money, relationships, you name it. We see only the best (and even unreal) on social media and we crave it. Then we turn it into some “challenge” or “resolution”. We post about doing it. We start. And then we quit… And there’s so much noise on social media, that people forget we even started it and they don’t call us out or even keep us accountable. So basically we can step into and out of our commitments with little to no backlash.
How do we become more committed?
1. Write down what I want - be specific.
2. Map out the daily steps to get there - practical and realistic.
3. Take the steps - It helps to have accountability on this one. People who will actually call you out.
4. STAY AWAY FROM THE EXPLORE TAB (and maybe even your home feed) - After hours of laying in bed watching videos of puppies or slime, you’ll realize this is only a distraction and not contributing to your success in any way.
That last one seems silly, but try it for a week and see how much it changes your mindset. Like I said above, this is STILL something I struggle with. But I’m working on being better about prioritizing exactly what it is that I want, figuring out how to get there, and committing to it.
How do you stay committed? How do you keep from being distracted?
Holy just had a #marathon#blog session. Had that on my mind for a bit and felt good to get out. I know a few people were interested in reading some of them and for anyone who wants to i can post the link at the bottom. Alot of it is still private because just not ready to share some of the past few months just yet. But it was nice to get back into #writing again. The biggest way to fall back into #depression is to hermit up and stop talking about it. Which after December I was beyond guilty of. Anyway I'm gonna leave you with a quote about my tattoo and some wicked #Winnipeg#manitoba#skyline . Y'all take care
.🇨🇦. "I always forget why I got this tattoo. Why it’s been my only one, and possibly is going to be my only one. When playing for the Huskies through high school, the team always had turmoil. Whether it was internal drama, injuries to our players, funding or anything under the sun. But we always powered through and made it. Even in situations the odds were against us. We’d all throw on that jersey with this husky, and give that field absolutely everything we had in us each and every time. Being one of the smallest forwards (in probably rugby history lol), I always sometimes had mountains to climb. But I always put on that jersey.. Would look at that husky and around at all my team mates and say “I got this. WE got this.” And with that we made it through a lot and won championships. And I remember right before I left for Halifax the second time putting it all on the line, I got this tattoo. Because whenever I felt like I was facing insane odds going back to a place where I knew a select few, I could always look down at my arm and say “I got this”
