Vita is recovering from a laparoscopy for the removal of a Uterine Fibroid tumor that was the size of her fist. There is an aggressive imbalance in hormones that accompanies an operation like this, which-- yes hello!!-- can have a very negative impact on your fitness regime. Recreating balance in the hormones and recreating support in the abdominal musculature are no small task. Lucky for me Vita is a kick ass client and super determined to make lasting change, which means she understands that we won't fix anything overnight. Please my friends if you are recovering from something (anything) and your trainer's response to fix it is to "add more weight" walk away immediately and find someone who has your best interest in mind. Earlier tonight on the way to Whole Foods for more veggies and some zinc lozenges because my son is sick. I was at the gym from 1pm-6pm. Methodical. Focused. Resistance training like a little old lady from Pasadena. :) #slowandsteady . Actually... slow slow quick quick slow kind of slow. Tomorrow is chest/triceps/lats/upper back/calves/more abs day. And vinyasa yoga or treadmill cardio. I haven't decided yet.
Also had a nice run with @prilanderson, but didn’t get to force her into a post-run photo, because she stopped before we did. It was still a bit too warm, but there was a nice breeze, so I didn’t feel the need to have a meltdown! Progress!
