This is a soldier bean. It's been traditionally grown by czechoslovakian people for generations. During the nazi occupation it's cultivation was banned because the Nazis thought the tiny little soldier-like marking would inspire resistance. One family kept growing it and I was lucky enough to be given some at Permaseminka - my last stop in Czech rep.
@studio_cossac ’s production is carried out in Europe. They believe in the transparency of the supply chain. Apart from using sustainable fabrics, they want to make sure that factory’s employees are working in just conditions and they are not being exploited in any form. Every supplier and factory they work with holds certificates assuring these rules are being followed. They also regularly travel to our factory to make sure these processes are overseen.
