Growing up I was also very eager and happy to go to school and learn, I still am. The second I knew the answer to a question my hand went up before I could even think or hesitate. No lie. This is very embarrassing but once I even tried to check out like 10 books at once. Lord help me thinking about it now I feel very embarrassed. But Emma Watson's character Hermione gives me the motivation to tackle my anxiety and try and show my love for school as I used to. This is just one out of the million reasons why I love her so much. ❤❤

“It is a curious situation that the sea, from which life first arose should now be threatened by the activities of one form of that life. But the sea, though changed in a sinister way, will continue to exist; the threat is rather to life itself.”

I am one who, by nature, responds emotionally to situations. I am almost always for the things or people—issues—that are the stances that help all people, especially the less privileged. Yes, I’m for an alignment of justice that is justice for ALL, not a powerful elite (like now). So, here in St. Louis, I would encourage and stand with protestors about the prejudiced treatment of minorities, but I will not abandon myself to any cause at a symptomatic level. No, it’s not a cop-out. It’s my philosophy and belief about who and what we are as human beings and the basis of that is the choice we make to walk in Heart or Ego. With all the possible criticisms, I believe the primary movers of the founding of America sought Heart, and that has allowed America to make a 200-year impact on the development of democracy on this planet. The Declaration of Independence speaks of “the Laws of Nature and Nature’s God” (no religious overtones imputed here). From these laws, which form the natural, honest, sincere basis of justice, are derived the “certain unalienable rights…Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of Happiness.” (Yes, this includes right to healthcare as the nation could provide it.) This leads to the establishment of “Governments instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed…” The just, legal powers should be formulated and applied based on Nature’s Law and the unalienable Rights. Therefore, when the legal code favors one group’s rights over another in code or practice, they are unjust. The current St. Louis and national racial unrest is based on the unjust character of code and implementation. I stand against that. I stand for Heart principles. The Gurkhas: How it actually begun..! Although East India Company got the rights to enlist Gurkhas from Nepal after the Anglo-Nepalese war (1814-1816), irregulars were already recruited from the areas of Kumaon and Garhwal in 1814, and they were to eventually become the 1st Malaun, 2nd Sirmoor, and 3rd Kumaon battalions who were by no means all Gurkhas.
The 4th battalion was raised 40 years later in Kumaon again as the extra Gurkha battalion and each battalion had a permanent station of their own by 1864. 1st battalion was stationed at Dharmasala, 2nd at Dehradun, 3rd at Almora and 4th at Bakloh near Dalhousie.
It was also about the same time, the wives and children of the soldiers were allowed to join them hence establishing a vibrant Gurkha communities in those areas.
Freelance Gurkhas were already serving in other units simply as 'sepoys' in the similar way as in Maharaja Ranjit Singh's Sikh armies in Punjab, and they were to be called the Hazara Goorkha Battalion, later to become 5th Regiment by 1858.
The 42nd Gurkha Rifle Regiment of Bengal infantry finally joined the Brigade as 6th Gurkha Rifles in 1903. The same year the 7th Gurkhas was to formed from 43rd and 8th Gurkhas from the 44th Native infantry which were formed in Assam in 1824.
The 9th Gurkha Rifle was formed in 1901 from the sixteen mixed-class regiments of the Bengal army and purely recruiting Khas and Thakurs.
The 10th Regiment was formed mostly by Kirati tribes from Eastern Nepal recruited through Darjeeling and used to known as 1st Burma Gurkha Rifles.
It was only since 1907, both 7th and 10th Gurkha Rifles started recruiting only Rais and Limbus of Kirati tribes from Eastern Nepal and remained that way until it was disbanded in 1994.

Book: Rising Strong by Brene Brown
Main Points 💻📚💡
Asking for help is a pivotal. Being the oldest, I deal with trying to be perfect and live towards the standard that other set out for me. Hence, I often correlate my mistakes with myself rather than the behavior. When we understand that our mistakes should not define us, rather they are a process and a part of life. Realize the difference between these two statements.
“I screwed up” = GUILT (behavior-focus)
“I AM a screw up” = SHAME (self-focus)
RECKONING, RUMBLE, REVOLUTION 🎈🎈
Reckoning: Find your emotions. Brown explains that we need to acknowledge when are hurt, angry, happy, etc. Understanding these emotions is important to find true growth.
Rumble: Another big theme throughout the book is lies. We constantly tell ourselves lies. We either justify our decisions or emotions, or we trick ourselves into thinking situations where we are the victims. Figure out why or how these lies are made.
Revolution: Only then would we find that true ‘aha’ moment. But remember, this is a process and incremental. So this will slowly occur so be patient.
