To be a caseworker, to work with families, to connect people to resources, to help touch the lives of others. This is what I do each and everyday at work. I get an opportunity to better the community, to support others, and to keep kids safe. It is one of the hardest, mentally challenging, exhausting, and tiring jobs I have ever had. With that, it is also the most rewarding, fulfilling, selfless jobs I have ever had. I may be lost sometimes, I may not always know what I'm doing, but I have a full heart! ♡

The love of my life, thank you for your endless devotion and love. For all the nights you stayed up with me. All the times you listened to me complain through the semesters. All the times you kept me motivated to keep going & do my best. And all the days you understood I was too busy working hard to be with you. Thank you babe ❤ My loving parents, they walked with me every step of the way. Always believed in me and my dreams and encouraged & inspired me to go after what truly makes me happy. The main lesson both my husband and parents have thought me is to never stop growing and continue to be the best self you can be & stop at nothing to achieve your goals. Thank you to my Husband, Mother, and Father for all your love, patience, and support. Congrats to all of us! We did it! 🙏🎓
Huge shout out to my friend and teammate Tammy!! This is what she had to say about the last year! Maybe you can relate 😁 "***Long Reflective Post*** Please read! I want to inspire you to do and be more!! Looking back to where I started my journey just over one year ago, I’m astonished at how far I’ve come.
I am a business woman, mom, and wife who was going through life just getting by. Not proactive but reactive - do something when it needs to get done and nothing more... That is not how I wanted to run my business, or be a mom and wife. Only doing the bare minimum. I only could think what type of example am I giving to those around me. Where was my ambition and drive to do more, and be more? I wanted more business, and to be more active in daily life..be present!! So I decided I had to do something, and that something was start with me!! A reset, start being active and healthy so that I could have the drive and the energy to do the things I really wanted to do! So in the last year I have come a long way, just by getting active and eating healthy...being surrounded by like minded women and men who empower me to feel like YES I can be more!! Now I am working on things I never thought I would be and growing in ways I didn't know I needed. Mental health, physical health and those things are driving my business and home life to an amazing place.
I have goals and I am going to reach them!! This is my story, but it’s nowhere near over! My lifestyle change is a lifelong journey. "
Experiencing burnout or heading in that direction? Studies show that meditation in the workplace can help to reduce conditions related to chronic stress (like absenteeism, illness, anxiety/depression, and poor performance). • ✌🏽☕️ Today, I tried a Colombian coffee from @colorroasters over a @kalitausa and @aero.press, and I preferred the @aero.press coffee! So... Not all brew methods are good for all coffees. Some coffees will taste better on @aero.press, some will taste better over @the_chemex, some will come out great over @kalitausa, and so on! So make sure you experiment and have fun with the various brew methods available if possible! FYI, there are more brewing methods than the ones I named. Thanks for looking, friends and family! Cheers! | #coffeeandsocialwork 💪🏽☕️
So every time I tell someone I'm studying social work the response is either "ohhhh that's hard work" or "I know someone who does that!" So for all of you who know someone who does that, can you do me a favor pretty please and ask those social workers you know if they went to grad school immediately or if they worked after graduating? I think my professors are a little biased + I'm looking at grad schools now. And for everyone who thought I was in grad school this whole time, I am still working on that ten year bachelor plan program with no complaints! Thanks in advance y'all 💖
At some point you realise it's not possible to please everyone. You cannot help each and every person who's in need simply because you're limited with your energy, time, skills, ethical standards, contacts, etc. I've met many independent individuals who've done much more than they could and became depressed and lonely in their own fight for a better world. It can all be overwhelming. We all need some balance to think clearly and be able to make other people's lives more bearable even if it feels it's not enough. It's always something. Thank you to all of you guys who care. It means everything to so many... 💛🙏
