I've had this idea to make a cover for my headboard since December - fast forward to yesterday when I finally bought linen textile at Ikea and started sowing. It was fairly easy for an amateur like me and I'm pleased (and a little surprised) it turned out the way i had imagined 👏🏻
What a day - work at the moment is chaotic!
Today was one of those days I wished I was a stay at home mom enjoying time out with my kid...
But tomorrow's another day and I know he is at least growing up seeing his mom work hard and make a difference - i hope?
Doesn't make me feel any better right now though.
Tonight is cuddles for him [and me] and some chilling with a new read... hope you're having a good day x
After a nightmare week and weekend of trying to get a rug for the dining room, it finally arrived. Really pleased by how it has brightened up room because of the dark floorboards. Now just need to start building the picture wall on the left hand side! 💪🏻
So laid back I'm practically horizontal. Feeling better since my strange episode last week, but still exhausted. Thank you for the lovely wishes. A place worth losing yourself in if you're ever in Haarlem - @vanduivenboden_haarlem followed by coffee or something lekker at @meneerfrans. You'll find all the Scandinavian staples and some gorgeous Dutch designers too. I need that chair. #curateanddisplay
Spare room / cinema room is coming together! After 5 hours of furniture building yesterday, my hands are really suffering today 🙈 Would love to paint this wall a stone colour but it's the projector wall...
A slow morning with books in bed (really enjoying The Girls by Emma Cline at the moment). I woke up at 10am today, a much needed lie in after a busy week 🙌🏻 We're off to the Matisse exhibition at the RA today then probably searching out a good cup of coffee. Have a lovely day! #thesimpleeveryday#toastbookclub
It’s always good to see things through other people’s eyes and this is a little scene from the kitchen, as taken by the talented @stylonylon. I absolutely love the way she has captured our home, and Aerende products in use, especially this dip glaze beaker and our best-selling elm chopping board. It was heaven to tell someone all about why I think being a #consciousconsumer is important and how we should all be embracing #ethicalinteriors . If she hadn’t been so busy taking lovely photos, which you can see on her blog (link in profile), along with all sorts of other lovely things, we could have sat around eating cake and drinking coffee all day.
This cosy little green corner is where I work 👋🏼 with plants and a pot of coffee to keep me company. A tidy space always make me feel more productive otherwise I can just spend time faffing and rearranging, oh I'll just put a wash on, change the bed or pull everything out of the kitchen cupboards and tidy them up 🤣 do you find that? 😊☺️
Morning light 🌿 potted a new plant too and I hope it doesn't suffer the way my fiddle leaf did whilst on holiday. Moved it around to the living room now so hopefully it will like it's new spot. Any care recommendations welcome!
Wrapping up the loose ends in the office today with this beauty for company - the Baggen 'Connected Speaker' in Indigo Blue (more on why I can't leave it alone on the blog). Tomorrow I'm out of office until early Sept to go on a couple of exciting adventures with the kids but will still be checking in here. Which brings me on to a question - got any new music tip-offs for me? I'm getting into Sampha and The Internet right now, but would love to add a few more to my playlist before we jet off...
