"Listen," Willem said, quietly, "what's going on with you? "Nothing," he said. "I'm tired. I need to go home."
"Fine," Willem said. He hailed a cab, and helped him in, and then got in himself. "Greene and Broome," he said to the driver. <...>
At the front door, he tried to get rid of Willem, but Willem wouldn't leave. "I want to be alone," he told him.
"I understand," Willem said. "We'll be alone together."
The first thing that popped up in my head on my first day in New York. And yes, I went to Lispenard street, too (I hadn't realized Lispenard and Greene were *so* close) but somehow I wanted to see Greene street first.
Somehow we ended up walking from the east to the west side, getting free coffee, giving a plant the rest of the coffee, walking a huge circle for half an hour, and walking the whole highline without knowing where we were going the whole time 👌📷
