Today the #ourdaughtersdaughterssociety theme is #timesup ! We’re all including items of black clothing in our posts and mine is my favourite t-shirt that I wore for the women’s march in London last year. I’ve also included some of my ever expanding “feminist bookshelf”. Solidarity to all the women marching in London, Bristol and around the world this weekend (I’m working so I can’t be there) and to all the women who can’t march but are helping the movement another way. It’s 100 years since women first voted in the UK this year (albeit not on an equal basis with men) and wouldn’t it be wonderful if time is really starting to be up for sexism and racism and homophobia and all the things we fight against as feminists this year? I can dream, anyway... #solidarity#pussygrabsback#5050parliament#nolitetebastardescarborundorum
2018 | Pavilion | Mexico City | Finalist Arquine Competition No.20
Proposal for a temporary pavilion to raise awareness about the need of assistance to people in emergency situations, as in the case of the earthquake of 19.09.17 in Mexico. The base module, which is prefabricated, modular and easily mountable, will be later used as a temporary shelter for people affected by events such as earthquakes, hurricanes and storms. These can be configured to be used as housing, information, nursing, among others, and generate a 'solidarity circle' to provide a sense of help and protection to the affected communities.
@Regranned from @bravenewfilms - Congrats to organizers and activists with @chirla_org and @kiwa4justice for your victory for the people! Support your local rapid response team ✊🏻✊🏽✊🏿 #solidarity#ICEoutofLA

I’m not asking for people to grab their pitchforks and storm my exes house, but what I am asking is for people to see their own hypocrisy. To see how much easier it is to look the other way and pretend it doesn’t happen to people you know.
I’m asking people to question what they’ve always believed to be “appropriate”. How many of these men even knew they were wrong? How many of these men actually believe they are justified?
I’m asking people to take it seriously when someone speaks up about their trauma, even when the perpetrator is someone you like. Someone like Aziz Ansari, like Bill Cosby, or like my ex boyfriend.
September 6, 1970 four commercial airliners were hijacked by members of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine #pflp . The planes where flown to Dawson’s Field, a remote desert airstrip near Zarka, Jordan. On September 9th a fifth plane, coming from Bahrain, was hijacked by a PFLP sympathizer and brought to Dawson’s Field in order to pressure the British to free Leila Khaled. "There are times when I’m very sad and even burst into tears because of this life in prison." Simon Philibert Rabemananjara, known as Sipra, aged 28, reads Psalm 119:67 & 71 at Marofoto Prison, Madagascar. Rabemananjara, a shopkeeper, is a member of Gepaprim (prisoners association) and is sentenced to life imprisonment for murder but has appealed his conviction and is awaiting a new trial. "In here there are two types of interactions: one between detainees and one between detainees and prison administrators. The one between detainees and prison administrators consists of daily commands that we must follow and it is not making our lives easy, and what often happens among detainees is no one really cares about the other; they only think about themselves."
Too often it is the poorest, least educated, and most vulnerable people who find themselves in prison. When they are denied access to the basic necessities of life, which most of us take for granted, they are at greater risk of developing mental health issues. In Madagascar, many prisons lack adequate food, sanitation, proper medical care, and provide few rehabilitative programmes, educational or vocational opportunities. In such conditions, inmates who have never experienced mental health issues can become depressed, anxious, and/or traumatised. Prisoners around the world are known to have much higher incidence of mental health conditions. Overcrowded and high-stress environments often contribute to their conditions worsening.
#InMyWorld is designed to expose the challenges faced by people living with mental health issues and give them the chance to be seen, heard and valued. @witness_change is a nonprofit that aims to end human rights violations for marginalized communities through visual storytelling. Photo by @hammond_robin for @witness_change. Mental health issues affect 1 out of every 4 of us, however these stories are rarely heard. If you are living with a mental health condition or care for someone with a mental health issue, share your story and help end the stigma surrounding mental health.
Stunning photo of @bluebirdkisses that I spotted on the @bumpbabyandco feed...
I absolutely 💓LOVE💓 this message and gorgeous image. Read it all - it is the TRUTH and we all need to remember it every day! 💫⠀
To every new Mum,⠀
Protect your energy + don’t waste your time;⠀
Explaining why you had a cesarean.⠀
Explaining why you had a home birth.⠀
Explaining why you had your baby in hospital.⠀
Explaining why you had pain relief during birth.⠀
Explaining why you didn’t have pain relief.⠀
Explaining why you aren’t breastfeeding.⠀
Explaining why you are still breastfeeding.⠀
Explaining why you are bottle feeding.⠀
Explaining why you give your child a dummy.⠀
Explaining why you don’t give your child a dummy.⠀
People will judge no matter what you do or don’t do but remember you have the power + you have the right to do what works for you + your baby because your physical + metal health + your babes health is what matters.⠀
Big Love from a Mum who’s learned that #opinionsarelikeassholeseveryonehasone but doesn’t mean it’s right!!!⠀

3 years since this day. Almost 22 years of friendship. Can’t express what these ladies mean to me. They’ll be embarrassed that I’m posting this. But, they need to know how much they mean to me. What I value most about these two fabulous women is their integrity. And to be honest, in my younger years, their parenting. I was 20 when I met them. They know everything about me. Everything! Been there for all my ups and a lot of downs. They are the women I share my whole self with. It might be months between catch ups, but we’ve never lost step. They’re pretty fucking cool. Louise - stop rolling your eyes. I love you both. #mates#strongwomen#friendships#solidarity#solucky
