Status report: not actually sure my legs even exist anymore... but somehow hit pace on Wednesday's workout and tacked an extra mile onto my long run today. @marigold_birds @artrackclub #marathontraining#oisellevolée#somanymiles
In the past 10 days I've driven 1059km (approximately 658 miles). That's excluding the almost equal number of kilometers I was the passenger in my colleague's car. 😱 #business
Also excluding all the traveling done over the easter weekend with the girlfriends. #pleasure
Daaaaaammnnn son. 🚗 Luckily I like driving 👍😅
4.13.17 - it was a whole lotta miles and a couple dates kind of day! Ran with 2 amazing ladies (at o'dark thirty), walked 4.6 with two more amazing gals (and a little hand holding with @mrs_williams633 sweet little fella), then it was off to walk & lunch with the hubs!
And now I know why I'm sneezing like a crazy woman (thank you wind and blooming trees) and I'm SOOOOOOO tired!!!!
Oh. My. God. Yesterday was amazing.
I finally got my butt back to #Crossfit on Monday (side bar, my quads are literally on fire every time I stand up) and I'm feeling AWESOME. Since returning home from AUS and starting my new job, I've noticed a massive decline in energy. The only major thing that has changed in this time period is the lack thereof Crossfit. I needed to get financially stable again (and working for a paycheck now is quite a different lifestyle) so FINALLY I was able to march my little (big) bum back to CFM.
Monday was a great workout- squats on squats. It was good to be able to ease back into lifting heavy-ish.
It was 81 degrees in Boston on Tuesday, which made getting up and getting out easier and way more enjoyable. I commute pretty far from home to work, so I made it a point to bring my workout stuff along with me as to be completely ready/in the mindset to workout when I got back to Marshfield. I went into my session with a really good mentality which resulted in a #kickass workout.
We did an #AMRAP 20 as follows,
• 20 Hollow Rocks • 200 m Farmers Carry (@26 lbs)
• 300 m run
Needless to say, there was a lot of movement. I was able to get 6 rounds in, moving as fast as I could. It was such a confidence boost to destroy this workout, especially because of how weary I was returning to the box. My coach made a remark to me amidst my workout, "girl you haven't lost a damn thing," in regards to how long I've been gone. It was killer, I left in the best mood and slept like a baby. Granted walking up/down stairs today has been rough but I'm dealing with it. I'll take the day off and go back tomorrow night for another session.
So today was cool. I had some ups and downs, but ultimately I'm feeling pretty good. Im not happy about my finish time, but I've discovered nobody cares. And I love that. I could have finished in 30th place or last and that finish would have been celebrated the same way. "Congratulations on your finish!" Just like that. I love that about the running (more so the trail/ultra) community. Here you see #mylittleginger clapping for me as I ran into the first aid station. This was the best moment of my day. The fact is that @caitlinlow towed Mac around all day and made SURE to be there to see me through. They were there for a while before me so Mac cheered for everyone. I wish I could have seen it. Caitlin, Mac, I love you guys. @rainshadowrunning y'all are alright too. Photo by Caitlin.
Whether it's spring break, taper week, or you are just working really hard on a ridiculously long project, sometimes you just have to put up your feet. So be like @scottloughney here, in the middle of the PCT FKT attempt, and put up your feet. #taperweek#orpctrun#blistersonblisters#orpctfktattempt#somanymiles check out my photo story on the project, link in bio.
