They call me a preacher ... yet the biggest "preach" around is the world we live in, programming us from near birth to truly believe that we were "born to eat meat"... I have simply awoken to what I believe is the "truth" and feel extremely passionate about it.
I simply care for every "being" with a soul 💗⭐️ 💡
Pictured below are a picture of Khaleesi when she got to Stray Rescue and a picture of what she looks like today, a brief story of her very sad past, a painting of Khaleesi and done by Khaleesi. These paintings are on display at Urban Wanderers Art Show for the next 4 weeks.
We adopted Khali in October of 2016 from Stray Rescue. We went looking at a different dog amd were told that things weren't going to work out with that particular dog but they had one they thought would fit nicely into our little pack. They showed us Khali and told us a little about her. She came in weighing 32 pounds and terrified. She had horrible fleas and her paw pads were completely torn up. She had severr heartworm and patchy skin. She very quickly started loving the people at Stray Rescue and eventually was fostered out. When we met Khali (Stray Rescue name Calypso) we instantly fell in love. She was so sweet and completely loved Arian (Arian certainly returned the favor) and we just knew she would be perfect in our home.
Next Drago had to meet her and make sure those 2 would get along..well Khali completely ignored Drago and he was love struck. He followed her around and just so badly wanted to play. After a successful meet we put in the adoption application and paid the adoption fee and we spoke to the vet who was responsible for making our baby look so much better. We discussed her suoer strict diet and severe heartworm, we discussed daily medications and heartworm treatment and we knew we could handle it. Later that week, Khali's foster mom brought her to her new home. She has been spoiled ever since and we couldn't imagine our home without her.
Fast forward to 8 months later...Miss Khali is now 60 pounds and heartworm free, has 2 fur brothers and a human sister who love her. She is missing almost all of her teeth from the street life and has some scars on her body from her horrible past. BUT she is so very loved and will be for the rest of her days!
Miss Khaleesi will never have to know what it's like to be scared anymore. She wont have to wander the streets looking for food or shelter. She wont be used for breeding and thrown away like trash. She will only see love ❤❤❤
Want to meet your local dog fighters? They're your neighbors, teachers, doctors, real estate agents, football coaches and even pastors. Dogfighting is not a “cultural thing" that only happens in rural areas, inner cities or low income areas - these are misconceptions which couldn't be further from the truth. Dog fighting is happening EVERYWHERE and has become a national epidemic.
Dog fighting is a cruel archaic "sport" and a form of animal cruelty that is calculated and well thought out. Dog fighting is nothing more than exploiting dogs for entertainment and financial gain.
Sadly, our society often to deems the dogs victimized as “dangerous,” rather than acknowledging the fact that there is no living thing more dangerous on earth than a human being without a conscience or a heart!
Don't excuse this form of cruelty!
If you know something, say something. Be their voice!
This poor baby was beaten and left to die. No animal should be treated with such cruelty. Please help by sharing and donate. #speakingforthosewhocant#Repost @newyorkbullycrew with @repostapp

***This tiny female appears to have severe head trauma and we are told had her babies thrown away in a box. We were asked by Pit Bull Rescues Survivors if we could help with emergency medical treatment and we could not turn our backs on her. She is alone and in pain! Who does this to an animal?
We will update the second we know more information.
THIS DAY IS ALWAYS HARD FOR ME***
It's been 9 years but I will never forget
SUPER BOWL SUNDAY reminds me of the day something was taken from me....
You see this ring💍? I never take it off and I wear it every day, my mother gave this to me on my 16th birthday. It has my birthstone and my moms. BUT, this is not the original.
9️⃣years ago on Super Bowl Sunday 🏈 I went for a morning trail run🏃🏻♀️ I was listening to my iPod 🎶 and the weather was beautiful 🌞
When I arrived at the end of the trail, I took my headphones off and I heard a gun shot🔫
I turned around and there was a man with a ski mask on and he was pointing the gun at me.
He grabbed me by the hair and put the gun to the back of my head and forced me on my knees⛰
He then shoved me to the ground, put my face in the dirt, with the barrel of the gun pressed against the back of my head, he proceeded to remove my ring, my sunglasses🕶, my ipod, my shoes👟 really anything of value💲that I had on me.
Finally he removed my pants and assaulted me...kicking and screaming, I was helpless. 😭
This day will forever be etched into my mind. No matter how many years go by the event is just as vivid in my mind as the day it occurred.
I lost a lot that day... but I also lost something that I can never replace.
But you know what?! I am alive. I am healthy. I am strong.💪🏼 #iamstrong#speakingforthosewhocant#advocate#healthylife#superbowl#speakup#releasethesilence

Yes, though it has been many days since I posted any pics of myself in dresses/skirts, I am still on-board, participating AND committed to this cause to both raise #Awareness and #Donations to rescue those caught in the sex-trade industry. Its all to bring awareness of this very real -and local- problem, God forbid that any of our daughters, sons, friends or even wives disappear into this dark, insidious world. Saginaw, MI is one of the top 3 cities in the U.S. where human trafficking takes place. I am told it is a collection center where slaves are stored before they are sent off to their new "assignments".
YES, I agree. December, right before Christmas when most funds are strapped, when the weather becomes miserably cold, is probably the worst month to do this type of fundraiser. And goodness KNOWS, I, Shannon, am actually tired of wearing dresses! Some of my concoctions, in my determination to participate for this cause as well as to dress appropriately for work, have been feeling quite dowdy with some of my concoctions, lol. Let alone I'm sure I've raised a few eyebrows, lol. 🙄 (But I certainly will be participating in this endeavor in the coming years.)
HOWEVER, the last few days before the new year and this official annual campaign ends, have proven to be the very best fundraising days, now thst the Christmas hustle is over. Won't you please consider donating even $5 or $10? Every little bit adds up. All funds go toward rescuing a woman, boy or girl from the slave industry, HERE in America.

Saturday's tromping thru the snow
OH, you'll never know all the layers that are underneath this dress as temps hit -0 windchill here in the Thumb of MI. But really, a whole lot more is on my mind than just cold winter temps or of Christmas coming. --There are those imprisoned -Locally- not just in 3rd world countries. They won't be able to enjoy Christmas, at all. RIGHT HERE in America, folks. 😐😐
Jump in this world-wide cause!
Gals, wear a dress; guys wear a tie.
Spead the word!
Even just $5 or $10 adds up to make a great amount when many join in towards rescuing a child or woman from being trafficked.

After a long day at work, its so nice to take the layers off my legs and snuggle with my furbaby. Having to get creative to keep warm in a dress as the temps have been plumeting and hovering in the single digits around here. Its Friday nite. Movie nite. Yay!! I'm ready to "chill". 😊 .....pun intended ....this time. 😉
