I found this today in my fabric store it's a top I made many years ago from a 1950s skirt although these days I'm not one for wearing florals I do still like this print so I think I will upcycle this again ( doesn't fit me ) I not sure what to make from it though to somehow showcase the print in something I'd use or wear #specialfabric#1950s#print#isew#upcycle#reuse
Madiba #shweshweprints back in store! Link to website in profile. Very limited stock, because this line is no longer in production. This range was released in South Africa to celebrate the life of Nelson Mandela, the father of the nation. For every metre of #madibaprint sold @meerkatshweshwe makes a $2 donation to the Stephen Lewis Foundation for the Grandmothers to Grandmothers Campaign: Canadian grandmothers raising money for grandmothers in Africa supporting AIDS orphans. #nelsonmandela#aidsorphans#shweshwelove
Day 14: Tricky
Cutting out some special fabric...knowing the right design and taking the scissors to it! I bought this hand printed batik in Sumatra earlier this year and I always find it tricky to cut in to special fabric. But it’s no good keeping all your special fabrics in your stash - so tricky as it is, I’m cutting into it today!
