Day 2: sentimental #bpsewvember This piece of fabric started life as an end of roll piece bought from Liberty when they had a shop in George Street Edinburgh in 1994. I had just dropped out of uni and was a lost very wee 20 yr old sleeping on someone's flat floor, working a crap bar job and hiding from the world. I found a community centre which let me use their sewing machine and started to sew myself happy. I never used this fabric at the time as couldn't find the right thing for it. It travelled with my through starting a family, becoming an OT and many moves until my 7 year old wanted to sew and found it. "This fabric would make lovely short dungaroos (as she called them)" and it did 😊This last bit will make beautiful facings for her Rosie shirt dress #thewondersofsewing#sewinghappiness#specialfabric
My second day purchases from #festivalofquilts from a delightful first time stall holder @urbanstax beautiful African fabrics direct from the African continent #patchwork#quilting#specialfabric loved chatting to you yesterday and hope the show was a success for you! Will send a pic of what I make with these beauties xx
Sunday night unpicking ✂ and it's something for myself!!!
So I can't be the only one who buys badly sized sale garments for the fabric..? How crazy gorgeous is this 3D lace on organza - it was made into a sad dress where they had clearly got the waist and hips confused.
