Pistol squats and weighted pistol squats. Hypertrophy and power.
Why I like to practice them is because I only add a small amount of weight for high resistance. I don't practice weighted squats because it requires me to hit the gym for heavier weights. So instead, I use lighter weights , but per leg.
I use whatever resources I have to enhance my workouts.
Weighted pistol squats is exactly like weighted squats, but the thing is, you only use one leg.
Make sure to master your pistol squats (do about 10 reps with ease) before inserting weighted pistol squats into your leg routine. Make sure to increase the weights little by little according your progress.
Throw away your ego when you're dealing with external weights. I busted both my knees two months back for doing it heavily without knee guards. It took me quite some time to completely recover. So, please throw away the ego and practice safe workouts. And please make sure your form is upright !

Everyone likes a good #flashbackfriday photo. Or at least it's good for me.
So i realised that today's exactly 52 weeks since my trial session in #teamV 😳 so I decided to have a wee look back to the way I had come so far. What can a person do in a year? Well, one can do 177 full #stairmaster sessions and countless reps on a squat rack. But one can also get out of their shell and that is the most important bit. I hadn't really imagine wearing something like I could this morning.
It has been tough ride so far but given me much more than I could ever imagine. I already mentioned a few times about life being completely overhauled (I'm writing this at 5:30am and that's a massive change in itself) but there is so much more than that - great people on the same journey, best way to unwind after a long day and get me through tough moments. Am I where I want to be? Hell no. For a while now, though, it's not about just the body journey anymore. It has taught me so much more than how to correctly lift dumbbells 💪🏻👌🏻
Big shout out to @vwilson_pt for helping me to get where I'm now, dealing with my moments of ridiculous detailing and perfectionism and keeping my focus right. Here's to all other years to come! 💃🏻👌🏻
