Putting aside my ego to focus on bracing my core, staying tight, dropping low, and keeping strong throughout the whole rep. I get frustrated easily because I know I don't lift near as much as a lot of other chicks my size, but I keep reminding myself that I've only been squatting with a bar since October. I've set a goal to lift 200# by the end of the year. I think I can surpass that if I stay consistent. ๐Ÿ‹

I'm beginning to really understand the importance of setting goals and aligning my actions to support those goals as I've fallen more in love with weight lifting. Without goals it's difficult to consistently move forward and make progress. Without executing a plan those goals won't come to fruition. โœ”

Something I've learned the hard way is that just because you may not fully believe in your ability or possess the confidence that others in similar situations do, you shouldn't sabotage yourself before you even start. There's no reason for you to think you can't. Why do you doubt yourself? You are fully capable of anything you set your mind to, you simply need a realistic goal and a plan to reach that goal. Dropping 25lbs in 3 months affected my squat more than my other lifts. But I had the same descent speed, same knee movement, and same FACE. ๐Ÿ˜‚

Also, the only reason I have a SPF record at 242 is because NO ONE else competes without wraps. I also hold the SPF Record for bench press in the 242 Open raw w/o wraps and I only benched 310 that day. So I say, ditch the wraps, and you just might set a record ๐Ÿ˜‰

My results from this last competition I did at @hasslefreebbc qualified me to compete at The American Open Series One which is going to be held at the The Arnold Classic this year from March 1st-4th. Unfortunately, I dont have the funds to fly myself to Ohio but I truely dont want to miss this opportunity. So thanks to a reccomendation from a few good friends I have started a GoFundMe. Did something new today. Resistance tubing during squat. It was much more difficult than I thought it would be. I only added 40 lbs to the bar as I didn't want to reduce form for weight. I feel like this is a new start of my journey. I have new goals and a new approach so Iโ€™m excited to see how it goes and document it on the way. 
Iโ€™m hoping to lose around 15 - 20lbs in the next 3ish months but all in a healthy and safe way! ๐Ÿ’“
An awk little โ€œphysique updateโ€ Havenโ€™t ever done one of these but I figured Iโ€™d share ๐Ÿค— I feel like this is a new start of my journey. Just monkeying around on all the equipment today ๐Ÿ’. I went in with a plan and got it done BUT was dreading abs. So instead of skipping them, I literally went around the gym and did 6-7 random exercises to make it FUN! After all, FUN is what will keep you going to the gym. 
Find something to spice up your routine every once and awhile ๐Ÿ’ฅ. Please do not perform the 1st exercise unless youโ€™re absolutely sure you wonโ€™t fall and hurt yourself but honestly tbh, I did this for 2 mins straight and my arms, core, and abs legs were shakin!

A few rope exercises from my full body workout today. Incorporating core, upper and lower body.๐Ÿ˜ต๐Ÿ˜ต I use the glute band for added resistance.

Speaking of squats... when I used to do them, I felt nothing. I couldnโ€™t really engage the right muscles. Since Iโ€™ve been eating right, I feel much more lean and for some reason I feel like Iโ€™m able to isolate the right muscles during exercise. My booty feels and looks SO MUCH more firm than it used to! ๐Ÿ‘
