Climbing through the week... We believe even your stairs should be a statement. Red oak stair treads, wrought iron, wainscot paneling, and a gorgeous weathered oak chandelier add subtle layers to this home.
I'm out of here for now. I'll be back in a couple of weeks to wrap up some more moldings. Big thank you to @technicalstairhead for all guidance. This has been a challenging build, but I'm super happy with the turnout.

A Parisian building whose staircase boasts an enchanting design which is surprisingly light despite the density of its materials: marble, stone, iron and bronze.
« Oh, And it makes me wonder 🎶»
Casa Víctor Blajot . View of the bell board, elevator door and staircase . Casa Victor Blajot was built in 1871 for banker Victor Blajot by famous architect Raphael Gustavino Moreno. Gustavino immigrated in the USA 1881, where he participate in many famous projects like Dakota building or well known Oyster bar in the Grand Central station in New York. He created the Guastavino tile, based on the Catalan vault a "Tile Arch System" patented in the United States in 1885 used for constructing robust, self-supporting arches and architectural vaults using interlocking terracotta tiles and layers of mortar. Casa Blajot is less know early work of the famous architect. The façade presents the style called neo-Greek , using radical for that time cast iron columns and brackets which support the windows and balconies. Columns and brackets are not hidden , incorporated inside the wall, but left as decorative elements of the facade. It is worth mentioning the iron stairs with marble steps, in the central entrance welcoming the visitors in a remarkable way.
Above the door and windows of the ground floor of facade the sculptor Rosendo Nobas Ballbé, sculpted a frieze representing the History of the progress of Humanity ". Rather remarkable neo classical relief. Although today mostly changed the house still conserved many original features.#casablajot#19thcenturyarchitecture#neoclassical#architecture#raphaelgustavino#interior#interiordecor#interiordesign#interiordecoration#exterior#chic#style#luxury#lifestyle#livingwithstyle#barcelona#nyc#famousarchitecture#famousarchitect#catalanvault#staircase
