The Summer Triangle fights the sunrise above an empty beach on the island of Værøy, Northern Norway. It was really cool to see stars and even a faint Milky Way together with those amazing sunrise colors. We actually camped on the beach that chilly February night.
Here's another attempt! We even managed to capture some light pillars in the distance. It's amazing how dark the sky was to our naked eye. I had a hard time finding a star to focus on. A 25 second exposure successfully captured A LOT of light!!
My photos can’t do it justice, but here’s the full frontal of this insane work of art. It’s a Kiesel Vanquish 7 string, with a resin-stabilized buckeye burl top that, if I’m not mistaken came from the good people @californiawoods. The top is laid over a thin layer of purpleheart and the body is southern swamp ash. Pale moon ebony fretboard, with a 7-piece walnut, maple, and purpleheart neck. The people at @kieselcarvinguitars continually blow me away with the quality and craftsmanship they put into their work, and this guitar is as incredible an instrument as it is a work of art. I wondered if the resin stabilized top may result in the guitar sounding a little bright, but they did the math and cut the tops to the right thickness to ensure this wasn’t the case. The guitar sounds great, and is another welcome addition to my ever growing family of Kiesels!
