Even though it's set long ago and in a galaxy far, far away, the newest #StarWars movie offers the harsh condemnation of mansplaining we need in 2017. At the link in bio, @vfhwd explains why #TheLastJedi is the eerily perfect installment for the Trump era—and why the men of Star Wars could benefit from listening to women. If you saw my story yesterday, you know I skipped the rose gold everything and went straight for the Porgs. 😎
Also, since I'm sure pretty much everyone saw The Last Jedi this weekend, what're your [spoiler free] thoughts?!
The Last Jedi has been getting some mixed reviews, and everyone is going crazy about it. Batman V Superman also received veryyyy mixed reviews, and I feel like The Last Jedi will be one of these movies that people either love or hate. Personally I loved Batman V Superman, but this just shows that you can’t please everyone, and why should you? Making a movie that everyone is expecting is boring, I like it when directors make movies that surprise you. However, I feel like the new Star Wars ‘trilogy’ will suffer because of this film, a lot of interesting story points from The Force Awakens have been tossed aside, which is a big mistake. I can totally understand the backlash The Last Jedi has been getting, and I think it is deserved. Rian Johnson has been arrogant in his portrayal of certain characters, and he shouldn’t have his own trilogy in my opinion.
