I had a really long review of Battlefront2 prepared but have decided to make a shorter one now.
Firstly I loved the Star Wars Battlefront even without it having a campaign mode. For some background I play Xbox rather than Play Station and on the first Battlefront I levelled up to 100 and played it for months on end, if not a whole year. I will pretty much ignore @eastarwars misstep with the pay to to achieve scenario, because in two days and as many steps they heard the people and made the adjustments needed.
The good - simply put the campaign mode and accompanying story. I always love a fresh story and side to the Star Wars saga and enjoyed the cameo appearances and even the link to The Force Awakens. I completed the campaign in the first 24 hours of my early access.
The bad - the servers can not cope with the day one players and that is not acceptable in my books. Can’t blame my internet or my software given I am playing it on a new Xbox One X. You have one job and it’s Star Wars... here’s a tip, it’s going to popular.
I don’t like that we no longer have the ‘freedom of choice’ that we were given in the first Battlefront. I want to be able to choose my character, the cards I equip them with and my weapon of choice. I don’t like having to choose a character based on the weapon I want... point being I don’t want to be an officer under any circumstance, particularly when a Classic Stormtrooper is on offer...
I also miss the other games like ‘capture the pods’.
I hope things improve, I really do but right now three days in, the ongoing fun of the first game is missing...
What are your thoughts on the game so far?
