Star Wars: The Last Jedi Review (Spoiler Free)
Wow. That was a pretty wild ride. It’s hard to really put it all into words because I found this film to be so unpredictable yet so enjoyable at the same time.
I felt like the film did a good job with balancing both what we wanted to see with what we would never expect. On so many occasions I sat in shock of what I was seeing asking “Did that just happen?” There was humor, but also a level of seriousness when dealing with the idea of the legend vs the truth alongside the idea of heroes in many forms.
What I really appreciate is the world building that took place in the film as this only expanded a universe we all love and enjoy.
In addition to all this, the film does a very nice job of expanding the idea of the force and the role of the Jedi. I won’t spoil anything but there are moments will make you smile with joy that harken back to the good ole days alongside withstanding optimism for the future.
For critics of The Force Awakens, fear not, this is not a rehash. For fans of Luke Skywalker, oh boy.
R.I.P. to Carrie Fisher, this last performance may have been my favorite of hers. She was so enjoyable to watch throughout.
The battles are fantastic, the scale is epic, the twists keep keep turning, the life lessons are indeed deep, and this film takes Star Wars to new heights and bounds in the galaxy far far away. What an experience, I’m quite eager to watch it again.
Leave all of your expectations at the door and just breathe. Enjoy this experience without baggage. Let The Force flow through you.
