😂 Happy Friday! This is so true though, right? It’s unusual to witness this sort of thing. How many of us actually just do ONE thing at a time or take 5-10 minutes to savor a meal while not looking at a screen. We’re always multitasking, distracted, ⭐️not in the present moment⭐️. It has become the norm.
Challenge yourself to practice mindfulness with one meal, snack or chai tea latte today ❤️ #mindfuleating#mindfulness#stepawayfromthescreen
We are kicking off Thanksgiving week by sharing videos from our #fundanoodlefamily ! See why our customers, Ambassadors and Little Learners are thankful for @fundanoodle’s hands-on learning tools AND our amazing business opportunity! @fundanoodlegaya
The @fundanoodle program encourages Little Learners to master uppercase letters before tackling Lowercase. This builds confidence and ensures the Little Learner has developed proper writing skills and hand strength before moving on to more challenging letter formation. But, Little Learners will use lowercase letters more in the classroom so they really need to practice, practice, practice! This week’s Stocking Stuffer #flashsale makes Lowercase letter practice more fun for less $$$! Take 30% off our Lowercase letter learning products through Sunday!!
My man Jack just turned 3 and got an *I Can Pound* kit for his birthday! It's looking like he's a fan! And his Mama is excited that this activity can grow with him! But let's be honest, how do we make the babies stop growing up?! 😭
Prioritizing downtime in the midst of our overly-networked lives can be challenging, but it is absolutely VITAL for your health. When was the last time you simply stopped to reflect? In efforts to “stay connected” with others (are we really connected from behind a screen?), we miss out on opportunities for introspection and are at risk of losing ourselves. *
One of the greatest pleasures I experience as a Health Coach is witnessing my clients begin to prioritize themselves, take the time for nothingness and reflection (among other things) and become a better version of themselves as a result. *
If you’re ready to say YES to yourself and take a journey towards your best health and life, PM me and we will chat! You’ve got nothing to lose!
Alright, I have to brag a little. As most of you know I am a Pediatric Occupational Therapist and I "geek out" about all things fine motor. My son, who is 14 months old, is my guinea pig for a lot of therapy ideas. Before you start to feel bad for him, check out that AWESOME pencil grasp! His fingers are pointed toward the paper and the crayon is resting between his thumb and pointer finger. So proud! 🤗😍
We Latinas love our devices. Important reminder to also step away from our devices and take care of our bodies! Interesting research by Nielsen...check it out: http://www.nielson.com/us/en/insights/reports/2017/Latina-2-0.html
I love it when restaurants provide games and other hands-on learning activities that make even the teenagers forget about their phones! But, sadly, I watched a young family beside me ignore the crayons and paper the staff gave their preschooler. Before they could even get settled the Mom had turned on a video on her phone and propped it in front of the child (who was not loud or misbehaving). The child watched the video the entire time, even while eating her food. Not once did she even glance at the crayons. There is a time and place and an appropriate age for everything, including technology. But I hope this Mom realizes how hard it will be to enforce a “no screen zone” family dinner in the future when her kiddos are older! Not only are we raising a generation of children who are not actively developing their motor skills, but we are raising a generation of children who learn to rely on technology at younger and younger ages. We are raising a generation of children who are not learning how to communicate and interact with others. 😔 These kiddos will be on a screen for the rest of their life! Teach them to play and be creative when they are young! Why do we expect our preteens and teenagers to not crave the device we gave them before they could even read and write? #writenotswipe#stepawayfromthescreen#soapbox#latergram#fundanoodle

Wherever you are, whatever you’re doing, pause and take a moment to appreciate this life, this moment, its lessons, its challenges, its gifts, its graces.... and if you can, step away from your screen or turn your phone away for a moment. Breathe in deeply and feel the breath expanding every part of your being... hold for a few seconds before exhaling and letting go of anything that’s on your mind. Repeat just two more times. Enjoy these few breaths of deep gratitude with yourself. Take this moment as often as you feel you need to throughout your day. 💜
Last week in Sydney I was enjoying drinks watching the sunset at Darling Harbour, when I looked on in horror at a girl who spent the whole time she was there snapping photos of herself. It was so bad she was moving round to get the perfect angle and would make her boyfriend take a load too (none of them together just her), they barely spoke. It was so bad that he was holding the camera up, not even looking at the photos he was taking whilst she posed - he was watching a video on his phone whilst doing it. If she wasn't taking her photo she was checking out the photos to correct her angle, she didn't even watch the sunset. I see this a lot in Sydney, I think it is the way the world is going - that people have become so self obsessed. I'm all for the perfect photo but not at the expense of enjoying yourself. This photo was taken reuniting with my beautiful, sexy, intelligent non-self obsessed girl friends. We had the camera out for literally a minute, I'm not even looking at the camera properly, instead we were enjoying each other's company and there in the here and now. But this photo makes me smile because it's not the perfect posed photo, but it's a reminder of the time I enjoyed with them, and really, that's all that matters!
I have been going hard. Hustling to be my best during this season of abundant blessings. My to-do list keeps growing. Crossing things off never seems like enough. With seven deadlines today, I stayed up late last night staring at a blank screen. The ideas and words had dried up. This morning, with the deadlines still there, I chose to walk away from it all for a few hours. I spent time outside with a friend enjoying convo, sunshine and crisp fall air. When I returned to my computer, the ideas were back. I felt more creative, more inspired and more at peace. ✨Turns out the answer wasn't in the hustle. The answer was in connecting with others and taking time away. ✨
Step away. Breathe. Connect. 🍎

OCTOBER IS HERE! 😍❤🍁️🌻🍂🍁💛 Throw back to last fall when I went hiking and camping solo for 3 days in the beautiful Shenandoah National Park, because I just wanted to breathe in the autumn air and exhale stress and heart ache. #GoOutSide#stepawayfromthescreen#breathe#beAdventurous#taketimeforyourself#indoorCatGoesOutside This was honestly the most challenging thing I'd ever done. All ALL alone in the woods. And it was a little scary at times. (Like when I had to walk by a huge black snake sunning its self on a rock I had to walk by. And when my legs were SOOO tired I didn't think I could take another step and honestly thought I'd die out there and no one would know where to look for me until some black bear pooped me out. 😂 Or when I wanted to just leave my pack there/drop weight or drink the rest of my water so I wouldn't have to carry it anymore. It started because I just wanted to see some waterfalls and didn't have anyone to go with. So I just went. Luckily I didn't see a bear until I was safely in my truck, driving out of the park. I still have my sleeping bag and tent in my truck, juuuuust incase I get a wild hair for fresh air again. Driving home I was so proud of myself for sticking it out and I will be forever changed. I learned I'm stronger than I thought I was. My mind carried me when my legs wanted to quit. #stronger and #thankful 💚 (and the first pic isn't edited at all. I love fall)
Happy fall(break), y’all! This made us giggle from @cathyjeanlaw - the talented artist who brought @fundanoodle's Max & Alphie to life years ago! And even though we don't suggest running with our scissors, we do encourage you to give them to Little Learners as young as 2 1/2 years! They do not cut hair, skin or clothing - just paper! The perfect fine motor learning tool for only $3.99! ✂️✂️✂️
When I lived in Texas, indoor plants graced the tops of all the cabinets in the kitchen, the entertainment cabinet in the living room, and all the corners in our sunroom.
Now that we've been in The Nest for two years it feels like it's time to add some plants.
We started off with two succulents (not pictured here) after we killed our fifth air plant. They survived! (We had doubts as our succulents at Cubesden Place and then later at The Station withered away within the first month of taking up residence with us.)
Today we transferred our propagated succulents into cactus soil. All of the succulents shown are rooted cuttings that we took with permission from our friends' yard.

Adding sounds to a fine motor task can help Little Learners stay engaged as well as improve their muscle memory! Our good friend Max shows Little Learns how to add these sounds to their handwriting practice in our "I Can Write" activity books! my fundanoodle.com/shawnadobbe
Did you know Fundanoodle's progression of handwriting encourages little learners to master Uppercase letters before Lowercase letters? Why is that?
1. Uppercase letters are developmentally simple... they are comprised of mostly straight lines and curves!
2. Uppercase letter formation encourages little learners to use the "top to bottom" approach to forming letters!
3. Uppercase letters help build confidence with letter recognition AND promote good fine motor habits!
