Back-to-back Pubcasts yesterday for the first ever “hometown edition” of @pubcastworldwide in STL ⚜️
Round 1 was at @urbanchestnut with 20+ year brewmaster Florian Kuplent. He’s brewed all across Europe, with “big beer” at Anheuser-Busch, and now he’s serving a mix of old-world and America-influenced beers at Urban Chestnut. One of the most knowledgeable guys in the biz, and an honor to have him on the show.
Round 2 was just down the street in The Grove at @thegramophone with Corey Smale, co-founder and marketing-mastermind behind @goodfortunestl. This “Chinese American-ese” joint is one of the most highly-anticipated new restaurants in the country, and it’s always good to jam over beers with a fellow punk rock fan and podcaster 🤘🏻
Now, it’s time to start the countdown for @storyoftheyearband tonight...

Holy. Fucking. Shit. @Vikings
So when the Vikings win, you politely ask your Saints buddy to take a photo to commemorate the night. But, a condition exists where you have to coax him in with a bottle of 2016 Barrel Aged Abraxas.
What a night. What a beer. #BringItHome
Second beer tonight @threekingspub was one from a personal favorite, @4handsbrewingco in St. Louis: the La Belleza imperial stout (10.5% ABV). Scoring Breakdown:
Look: Nice and dark body with a thin tan head. Also, I love when a draft beer is served in a snifter; makes me think I made the right decision.
Nose: Notes of coffee in the malt-forward smell. Slightly smokey.
Taste: Has a nicely thick mouthfeel followed by a strong, roasty taste.
Finish: Not pleasant. Some sort of spice lingers, but not in a good way. Reminds me of chili or cayenne pepper.
Bonus: Nothing terribly unique.
Summary: This imperial stout has a nice initial taste, but the finish, which contains an almost overwhelming spice, dampens the overall experience .
Decided to buy a flight out to Oahu to support @craft_beer_hawaii & @jpizo’s grand opening of @inuislandales. Can’t wait to hangout with everyone next week! Here’s the @sideprojectbrew I’ll be bringing to share, hope y’all like stouts 🤙🏻❤️🍻
