27-year-old Ellie Richardson was leaving Lachey's Bar just after 3 a.m. when police said a van nearly hit her. The van stopped and Richardson and the driver exchanged words. Police said Richardson approached the van and the driver shot her in the face. If you have any information about the shooting or the van - call CrimeStoppers (513.352.3040). #Local12#otr#stopgunviolence
Last night was the 2nd time I've seen something so devastating happen right in front of my eyes. Me & fam played baseball together and we never had any long or personal convos, but when we seen each other it was solid. He was a good guy! Rest easy bro 🕊 #StopGunViolence#PrayForColumbusMs
To own a gun shouldn’t make you feel powerful, almost unstoppable... that is where you need to stop and think “am I in control?” Or is the gun in control of me.. a person that uses a gun to feel powerful and spread fear is a coward, drop the guns and do the right thing and rise above it!! #stopgunviolence#letschangethewaywethink#betterguncontrol#gunsarebad

Emine, today is your 30th birthday 💛 and there’s not a day that goes by you don’t cross my mind. I️ remember when we first met and how sad you were that they cut all your hair off at the refugee camp and how excited you were when it started to grow back because you looked like your brother. I️ remember how scared you were of trying American food and somehow found comfort in sour cream and onion chips and orange soda. I️ remember how much you loved the ocean and when you finally were able to experience it for the first time, you never wanted to leave- in fact I️ nearly had to drag you out of the it😆. What I️ remember most though, is what you taught me about compassion and understanding without ever saying a word. 10 years have gone by and there are days when I️ still feel like this wound is as fresh as ever. Today though, is a happy day because I️ know how much birthdays meant to you. Happy Birthday, Emine. #stopsenselesskillings#stoptheviolence#stopgunviolence#gonebutneverforgotten#happy30thbirthday
DONATE DONATE DONATE!! ❤ (Link in bio) Many of you know my nephew/lil brother was critically shot 10/25/17. It's been a real struggle for my family and I dealing with this and trying to understand. Arthur was transferred to ICU at Iowa City Hospital (45 minutes away from home) in critical condition. He's fighting to get better. I appreciate all the prayers, calls, text, I mean everything!! I really have amazing people in my life!!! I started a go fund me in my nephew's name to help my sister/second mommy who's taken off work and left behind her everyday normalization of life to be with her son. God has been with us through all of this, and I'm lucky to say my nephew is survivor of gun violence! But, it's seriously time to put an end to all gun related violence and live in peace. Thanks in advance for your donations. (Link in bio) #Donate#StopGunViolence#Blessed

Today is National Survivors of Suicide Day. Survivor is a fitting term for those that have endured this kind of loss. I lost my mom to suicide 12 years ago. In addition to grieving the loss of somebody you love to suicide, you are also left wondering how this could have happened and if you could have done anything to prevent it.
My mom was perfect in my eyes. She was beautiful, intelligent, artistic, adventurous, kind, and had a great sense of humor. She was a stay-at-home mom for most of my childhood. She was a member of the PTA, a Girl Scout Troop leader, softball coach, and pretty much the most amazing mother you could imagine. Anyone who met her, loved her. Her energy was so bright that she was like a magnet whenever she walked in a room. How could this happen to her?
My mom was also a survivor of sexual abuse, gun violence, depression, and an opioid addiction from the pain pills prescribed to her after she was a victim to gun violence. These are all some of the serious issues that our country is still grappling with today. Her suicide is a culmination of all of these factors and the destruction they cause to people's lives. Normal people. Beautiful, intelligent, artistic, adventurous, kind people. People like my mom. 12 years later, I think I have a better understanding of how this happened. What I struggle to understand is why so little has been done to fix these issues that are killing the people we love. I am starting to see more people talking about these topics and I am hoping that NOW is the time we finally start seeing a change. There is nothing that can be done to save the lives of our loved ones that have been lost to suicide, but maybe we can do something to address some of the issues that contribute to suicide and prevent somebody else from having to be called a SURVIVOR.

#RIPBRIAN *sigh* I’ve known you since I was 13. People never let me hear the end of it for having a daughter by you. There were times we spoke like friends, times we argued like we hated each other and times we stayed silent because we had no clue what to say. You were a busy body lol all the females but still try to get back with me and make a home lol. I always said your heart was in the right place your mind was just dumb or trying to catch up lol. I know you tried your best in the end and we all make mistakes. I’m happy I forgave you when I did then so i don’t carry any regrets now. I’m happy you’re safe and away from pain. You once told me “if I️ get taken out I’m not leaving alone” and you meant it. You took a life for a life so everybody took a loss. Kiss our baby while you’re away. I’ll kiss Lyric and I’ll keep you her hero though you tried to taint her perception of me. I had her a locket made and sketch of the 2 of you. From where you are you can watch over all your kids. This is so surreal to me, though you and I both knew this day would come. I wish it wasn’t now. It’s keeping me up at night. Rest Up punk. #StopGunViolence#LoveForYou#GodHealMyBaby
