#Motherhood . There’s a graham cracker next to me on the steps. There’s a snotty tissue crumpled up hiding behind me. I haven’t washed my hair in 5 days. But so help me god, I’m going to take a #fall photo because this is my #season . I was built for #autumn . Layers, soup, boots, scarves, knitting, sewing #Halloween costumes. This is my jam. So here I am in all my unshowered, graham cracker crumb-covered, snotty tissue-hiding glory. My name is Deb, and I wouldn’t change a thing. 🍁🍂🌾🍃 #craftymom#mnmade#stpaul#mamamaker#mama#exhausted#selfcare

Today was an emotional, but rewarding day. I had my first family session for people that found me via the internet with whom I had no previous connection to (i. e. friends/family/or friends of friends or family, etc). They couldn't have been sweeter or more adorable and easy to work with and I'm so grateful! I was so nervous, as I usually am before sessions, but I'm happy with the results. Hopefully they are too! :)
In other notes, the session was in Mankato and I drove there alone. This gave me 3+ hours of uninterrupted time with myself, which I used to take in the gorgeous scenery of central/southern Minnesota, listen to music, and reflect. I was so filled with gratitude for getting to experience this life in all of its' beauty and its' difficulties as well.
In my reflection, my heart opened to something, a heartbreak of a sort, for lack of a better way of putting it. I've been avoiding feeling this fully because it's painful, confusing, and I've been unsure of how to deal with it.. but I'm thinking I may have to channel this revelation into art, because I don't know there's another outlet for this kind of thing. That's all I'm going to say about that for now because I don't really know how to talk about it, but stay tuned. ✨
PS: I'll be posting some of my recent portrait work, i.e. senior sessions, and family photos, on my other account (@robynfaiephoto) so stayed tuned over there as well, if you've been waiting for that kind of thing! | r.
Earlier this year, @a.mr.borg and I made a weird, jagged, sorta-hip-hop EP. Then @mokswagger88 made a pretty rad video for one of the songs on it. Since I just had a chat with Borg about production schedules for the full length this winter, it seemed like a good time to share this again.
So, here is the video for "Bathtub Drugs" by The Bit, of the Music For Claustrophobes EP.
