68.9 miles at a cruising steady 5hrs.
Broken chain, flat tire and almost got my bike stolen.... I think u can definitely call that an adventure for sure 🤘🏻🤘🏻 lol... oh yeah and I saw a pet pig 🐖 🐷 today lol
Started at Norwalk, went to “Santa Fe Dam” then “Seal Beach” ended at “Liberty Park” and got a car ride back home(didn’t bring lights and didn’t want to deal with the freaks at night). Strava’s December Gran Fondo 100km/62.137 miles challenge
Today's 2nd training session was a coastal ride and my longest in quite a while. The winds were crazy with alot of strong headwinds but the crosswinds were the worry as hard to stay on bike at times feeling like it was going to get whipped from under me any moment. Also hard to stay heading straight as getting blown around. I felt really strong today and fresh and happy with performance and average. Now to rest and be ready for tomorrow's 2 training sessions. Make every day count #noexcuses & #noregrets
Located on the northern banks of the Rivanna River are what remains of a canal and lock system (circa 1830) that was once used to facilitate batteau navigation past the Meriweather Dam. The dam is gone but the foundation of one of the locks still remains. #hiddencharlottesville#thepushto3k
I decided to do a fasted ride today as part of strategy to get body utiliding fat stores for energy more & in preparation for times in races whrn glycogen stores empty. Was a horrible experience. Felt great on way out but on turnaround my legs were gone smd were jittery with a sense of delayed responses from brain's messages. But all good training. Just didnt expect to hit wall so early but dug deep on way back when was challenge just to keep pedalling and finished with a reasonable average overall.
Finished my second training session of the day a few hours ago. Weather bit crazy here for a swim or ride so did a HIIT session on the spinbike doing hill sprints with hesvy resistance for high intensity part. I did 45 sec on 45 sec off x10. Legs were wrecked and pumped after. Been good days training. Rest and refuel now in preparation for tomorrow's 2 sessions
QUESTION. Would you rather cycle up a hill or into a headwind? Living in the flat land of Lincolnshire means a headwind is our main enemy 😩 today was a dream of a ride until I turned around and then POW!! 🌪happy #humpday folks!
Spent most of morning and early afternoon making excuses about training. This morning I was "too cold" to go swimming (and water pretty cold at moment) and i was tired smd out of sorts. Since then i've bsttled mentally about planned cycle as crazy busy day snd no chance to get new cleets and wind crazy. Finally decided feck it and to cop myself on and put on my runners and off I went on my racer. This ride shows just how powerful our minds are. On a racer wearing runners with cleet pedals in crazy winds I got a 28.5 kph average. Impressed. Cant wait to get new cleets as going to smash 30 kph avg. Achieving goals is all about winning the mental battle. Don't let that lazy negative bastard in your head win!
