Not so happy about todays race...😯 It was way too hot, I was tired from 6 days of work, and a big part of todays route was through the fields, so I was already exhausted halfway. I also started faster than I should. The first 3km were OK, the rest was pretty much pulling myself together and convincing myself not to quit. 👎But I made it to the finish line. I was so tired, I even forgot to take a picture, so here are my worn-out shoes. I know, I need new ones soon...

Les 3 premiers tours ont été tellement durs que j'avais juste envie d'abandonner, je me demandais comment j'allais pouvoir en faire 10 😨 mais le corps et le coeur ❤️ s'habituent, heureusement 🤗
Enfin je pense que c'est normal et je pense aussi avoir bien forcé ! 😁
Ça donne 14,5 km/h de VMA, il ne me reste plus qu'à le confirmer avec un second test la semaine prochaine 🏃
C'était aussi l'occasion de tester la piste de Vaise, elle est nickel 👌

Une tendinite rotulienne à partir du km 200 qu'il faudra gérer en descente puis une 2ième qui se fera sentir 60km plus loin à force compenser,
Ma préparation mental m'a permis d'atténuer la douleur quand elle était à son paroxysme par la sophrologie et l'hypnose que jai appris les 3 dernières semaines avant le tor.
Sur le plat ça équivaut à 630km en 126h soit un petit 5 km/h de moyenne, 
Mais faut encaisser les montées et sutout les descentes musculairement sur des sentiers techniques, parfois vertigineux et dangereux voir mortel si on manque de lucidité sur ces passages,
Puis la fatigue 7h30 de sommeil dont seulement environs 2h de sommeil profond sur 5 jours 4 nuits,
Puis la météo et les variations thermique entre le fond de vallée ou il peu faire 25°et à 3300m d'altitude ou on peu avoir du -10°,

La compétition n'a pas ça place dans ce genre de défi de vie ou si pour les 5-10 premiers mais pour le reste du peloton le but est de finir et de se battre contre soit même et la petite voix qui nous trouve plein d'excuse pour nous faire abandonner.

Tous ça pour ça: 126h27' 330km 30000md+ Soit près de 3,5 ascension de l'éverest Une tendinite rotulienne à partir du km 200 qu'il faudra gérer en descente puis une 2ième qui se fera sentir 60km plus loin à force compenser, Ma préparation mental m'a permis d'atténuer la douleur quand elle était à son paroxysme par la sophrologie et l'hypnose que jai appris les 3 dernières semaines avant le tor. Turned a 40 mile run meant to be finished in 10 hours into 65 miles finished in 28 hours with a bivy nap. The Chilkoot has definitely uncovered a trove of willpower and focus I didn't know I had. Harry and I got dropped off at 4:30 where we started hammering back steady miles as conversation drifted from heroes to gear to motivations. He paced me through the rainforest, turning around at halfway and leaving me one of his burritos. I continued on, missing the pass and finding myself traversing ice fields. I avoided the slick, blue ice but found crusty ice doable without crampons. I peaked over a ridge to find the trail meandering lazily through a valley below. Downclimbing the wet boulders and rehydrating from streams, I hit the trail in good spirits, glad to be on fast terrain again with open sky. The next hours passed in a blur as I found the zone and stayed until about mile 24, where blisters and a wall caught up to me. At this point, I had left the lake filled valleys and entered a forest, walking the uphills and running the downhills until Lake Bennet. I realized I didn't know which direction the car park was. A few campers pointed me North. The sun was setting so I hurried along the tracks, keeping a pulse on dropping temps. The lot was meant to be 7 or 8 miles away. After an hour or so, I didn't see a lot so I went to mile 12 just in case my watch was wrong. With the dark cloak of night closing in, I switched my headlamp on and went back 12 miles to camp. I got pretty lucky with drizzles every now and then as the low, dark clouds stayed away. At camp, after 22 hours of exertion, I took a nap in a camp restroom, alternating between bouts of sleepiness and the pre-dawn chill. Waking with morning, I crammed down clif bars and continued 8 miles the right way. The people I met at the end of trail were full of kindness and generosity. A family gave me food they couldn't bring across the border, John handed me a beer, Becca lent me her uber puffy, and a group gave hot tea and blankets to nap in while I waited for Chad, Grace, and Jax (a pupper) to finish. Big ups to all the awesome people who rounded off an unforgettable Chilkoot experience//🌲🌾

The Gower 50 mile trail ultra is getting close now so for the 2nd Tuesday in a row myself and The Beut Christopher Anthony Jones ( @chrisradioman )have taken the day off work for a tough training run around the Gower, covering the hardest sections of the ultra.

We were joined by @ukultrarunner Nathan Flear today, impossible not to be impressed by this guy, making all this look so easy. Fair play mate even running 10 miles to meet us before hand you crazy man! 😮👍

We covered almost 30 miles of very tough Gower coastline, it's hard to explain how tough some of the sections are but trust me they are not easy. Miles of sandy beaches, up huge climbs, down steep descents, through fields, rocky paths, through mud, through streams, rocky beaches, it had it all. (We even ran up a golf course driving range with people firing golf balls towards us at one point 😮😂)

Great trail training run, great company, with epic scenery as always around the stunning Gower. Can't fault it - I am now feeling a lot more mentally & physically ready for the Ultra 💪 Cheers lads!

Great track session tonight 😀 7x500, 1:30 rest. 2x300, 1:30 rest and 2x200, 1:30 rest. First 5 sets of 500 i smashed it but the last two sets i dropped off just a little bit. The 300's and 200's got hit hard though 👍🏻. Legs was goosed after it so i know i maxed out! Love getting down to track!
