I’ve just realised that 5 years ago today, having never run before, I ambitiously started week 1 day 1 of the C25K program. (“Couch to 5k”). It was a struggle for me running 1 minute x6 times with a walking break in between each run. That decision has been life changing though & I’m so glad I did it. I still always recommend C25K to anyone starting off who wants to run but who doesn’t know where to start. It builds you up little by little from hardly anything to running 5k in 8 weeks. And after that, who knows where it will take you... 👍🏅
Sospan Multi Terrain 10 Mile Race 19/11/2017 (1h:29:15). Challenging course, with a good mix of paths, woods, beaches & sand dunes, with a few sneaky hills thrown in… but definitely one of my favourite races I’ve done this year! 👍 As someone who never fancied the idea of trail races, this year has seen me complete quite a few now (7 I think?), and I admit I really am a convert. My #medalamonth2017 for November is now sorted too🏅

More rain. More cold. More wind.
Definitely hit snooze on my alarm 5 times, which is a record for me. But looked at the radar and knew the storm was coming, so pulled myself up and out in the cold and dark. And glad I did!
5:50AM: Only 45 degrees, little to no rain, but heavy headwind coming from the north. Luckily my easy miles were heading north and I had the help of the wind for the GHMP Miles. Tough run, but just kept repeating my mantra “become comfortable with being uncomfortable” because I’m accepting the fact that my athletic goals are aggressive so more painful than before. Coming to that realization is growth for me and will be a constant mental game for the next 6 months. Scared and excited, so must mean I am doing the right thing 😁
