Jay in Gladys Park. I was sitting by the basketball court that day, watching guys play, when he sat next to me. He was talking non sense about Chinese people who just gave him a jacket. I was thinking, fuck I was enjoying the silence before he sat his ass. But at some point he turned his head and we both looked at each other. I could tell he felt intrigued. I was curious too. We instantly connected. I told him about the photos I was taking, he asked me about my strategy, about France, about my love life. He got a bit naughty but his sense of humor saved him. We laughed a lot. As I was about to head out he asked, what about my picture? Oh I thought we were gonna do it next time, I replied. And he said: girl, there might be no next time. And he walked away to get props, two basketballs that he chose to hold in each hand. I pointed my camera and thought about all the photos I missed because I counted on next time and that fuck, the dude was really smart. We became friends since then.
