Happy birthday to me! 😂
I woke up today and was delighted to find the sun shining into my room. I decided to go for a morning walk around my neighborhood and it turned out to be a great decision, the weather was really nice. I took this picture around five minutes from my house, I just thought these trees looked absolutely beautiful in the morning light.
#thoughtoftheday : I was afraid that I'd feel very lonely today since it's my first birthday without my friends and family at home. However, thanks to being able to communicate with my loved ones through Whatsapp and thanks two wonderful people who invited me for lunch and dinner, it turned out to be a great day.

In 1992 I visited Albania with a friend. One year after the end of communism and seven years after the death of Enver Hoxha - the Stalinist dictator who reigned over his fiefdom for over 40 years, we found a country in ruins.
Not accostumed to the idea of tourism, the Albanians we met assumed we were journalists. And why not? By playing along we managed to visit a hospital, a madhouse and several (abandoned) factories. We were on tv, talked to parliamentarians and even met with the president. Ah, those were the days of backpacking!
