Having fucked up my lower back on Sunday, it's IMPARITIVE that I keep my healthy routine down. Injuries really get to me and crush my sprirt, cause I either lose mat time to better my mma or both weight training and mma. Anyone that does the sport I do, can relate...mat time is one of my best outlets and it has helped me in so many areas of my life. But I have been lucky enough to do stretching, mobility and light weight work from my home. I have also been lucky enough to continue my nuclei overload experiment which I thought would come to a screeching halt. Don't let injuries chop you down, use them as building blocks to strengthen your mind and spirit. Today was the first day after extensive therapy at home, only my right side hurts...and not nearly as bad as the first 3 days. Still have to take it slow and let it heal fully. Injuries suck kids, but it's what you learn from them that make you stronger. Morning starter is my @pitbull.labs1 Cherry cola BCAAS.

It has brought much fulfillment in my Livity, my Life, my very Being. It brings fullness in me. Strength. Power. Empowerment. Life. Meaning. Depth. Truth. Reason. Knowing. I feel blessed to have this alignment with Yoga. And I feel even more blessed to share this wisdom, teaching, awareness, and healing of Yoga with the world.
I've experienced a very deep and devastating week this past week. Extreme rides of emotion, abrupt situations, and complete opposite/contrasting situations from my relatively steady life. Most especially when I was hit with the loss of a very dear loved one of mine. The experienced numbed me. I wondered how could I continue my work as a Healer and facilitator of Light work (such as Yoga and Reiki)? In moments of reflection I knew I could do it. So I took a deeep breath, inhaled, then exhaled deeply. Did it a couple more times. Stood tall. And said "Okay, I got this. I can do this." Knowing that I was about to teach a Yoga class soon. And I did it.
Gratitude -- so much gratitude for this perseverance and trust in Yoga, in leadership, and in myself. Today's class, with my amazing student @nat_stoberman was something different. It was very intuitive, organic. It flowed differently. We did different postures than usual. We were very much intune with our own Self and our practice. I feel stronger than ever before. The experiences I've had has given me more strength!
This practice -- Yoga -- is the very practice that I know more and more firm in Truth now, to be Truth! It is Self Realization. And we get there through connecting with Our Mind, Our Body, Our Spirit, Our Breath, Our Energy. Give thanks. ✨❤️

Day 3 of meditation. I feel more connected to my source energy than I have in a very long time.
These past few weeks have been very trying, very stressful and I'm thankful for that.
The hard times have made me do some major soul searching. Starting my daily meditation practice is a result of life's hardships and I'm so thankful for that.
This next year is going to be absolutely amazing, life changing and full of positivity.
It will take hard work and discipline but it's going to be so worth it. "Work harder on yourself then you do on your job." ~Jim Rohn Wiseceords from a very wise man.
I'm putting out positivity into the universe and the universe is listening.
So today's workout was actually very relaxing 💆🏻I had my stress relief candle burning while I focused on improving my bodys flexibility. I honestly think I should start making this a night time routine 😴
What's keeping you feeling "stuck"? Lack of focus, feeling burned out, or even fear of failure? Having that stuck feeling is normal -- I've been there and it can SUCK. underwater life. learning to properly breathe at the @xptlife retreat this past May had a HUGE impact on my training. In and outside of the pool. Learning to control my breathing throughout the day and while pushing physical capacities. Consciously training with only breathing through my nose versus mouth breathing while working out. Breathing through your nose helps increase CO2 into the blood, which has a calming effect to the body. It's difficult, and definitely a mental challenge. Give it a try! I wanna hear if it has any effects in your own training!

There are so many forces trying to keep us playing small, whether it's what we've been told growing up, former bosses or professors telling us we can't do something, or even just our own inner thoughts & beliefs holding us back to keep us feeling "safe".

But aren't we all? 🤔🤔 We all have places to go, people to see, jobs to get done, and usually in the day in and day out of a busy life there is one thing that falls by the wayside; YOU. 🙌🏻💯 I'm leaving for NOLA tomorrow and I haven't packed, I'm currently doing a million loads of laundry, I'm waiting for packages to be delivered, I still need to the grocery store, pick up a prescription, oh and you know, go to that thing called work! 😳 (Night shift tonight 😏) So yeah, I understand busy. 🙃🙃 And for the most part anyone who knows me KNOWS my life is always this hectic. I am always on the go. 🏃🏼♀️🏃🏼♀️🏃🏼♀️ But for me, there's one thing I'll never change and that's taking care of ME. 💁🏼🙌🏻💕 Yes, sometimes life does get in the way because I'm human. Yes, sometimes I don't feel like it. Dear Nigerian girl, it's in our default as humans not to really like when others criticize us especially when we are convinced that we did the right thing. But we need to understand that not everyone will see good in everything you do and sometimes we are actually wrong. No one can be right all the time. And so we will be happier people if we smile and say "thank you" for criticism like we always do for compliments. It used to baffle me a lot when older people like my mom, always told me that I shouldn't frown whenever I was corrected by an older person, I found it quite funny but now I see that it's a step towards building a strong mind and personality. Most of us are quick to frown or scream or even cry whenever we are criticized, but it's good to look back on whatever we have done and work on what we have been criticized about, it's not pretence ,it's being better, it's being strong...
